Craft Room Organization and Custom Design

The custom designed craft table I created. Seven by four ft. solid 2" inch thick rustic wood top. The four sides of the table are designed keeping practicality and functionality in mind. Front side provides ample space for two people to sit comfortably with height adjustable stools. One side of the table has three adjustable shelves for extra scrapbooks, books, magazines and craft books storage. The other side was designed with a pull out shelf that stores the sewing machine and two baskets concealed behind two doors. Right above these doors is a solid wood pull-out shelf that the sewing machine would sit on when in use. It was carefully designed to be at a comfortable height for the user when sewing. The side facing the window has eight labeled drawers with partitions to hold ribbons, embellishments and other scrapbooking items. 1940's Shabby Chic Beach Bungalow Kitchen

Embracing the vintage, and her love for Shabby Chic style, this coastal beach client wanted to retain her original stove, as well as her original kitchen cabinets. We also kept all her vintage china and old appliances. We removed the old tile counter and backsplash, and replaced them with a butcherblock countertop from IKEA, and beadboard backsplash. The farmhouse sink and bridge faucet and vintage style chandelier were also purchased for the new space. Since my client doesn't use the old stove very often, she opted for no hood above the stove. The breakfast nook is quite tiny yet still suitable for morning breakfasts for two.

It was arduous to find space for sleeping, reading, sewing, writing, painting and sitting - all within a 168 square foot room. Success depended on creative use of every nook and savvy space planning. There were two closets, so one was repurposed into a small office area. The mesh bins are used for storing sewing materials or other craft supplies.
