“Two years ago we bought a nice house with great bones but not much personality. Since then, with the help of Diephuis Builders, we have been adding architectural interest a little at a time. In the living room we added a coffered ceiling, new fireplace surround and mantle, an arched casing between the living room and kitchen and new railings on the stairway. Outside they installed operable cedar shutters, iron window baskets, gable brackets and a cupola. In the basement family room they installed beadboard and box beams on the ceiling and new casings around the wide opening between the TV area and play area. They even hung a unique antique sliding door I found using rustic barn door hardware. I have very specific ideas of how I want things to look and Dan and Betty and their crew are creative, meticulous and easy to work with.
