This kitchen has so many details we are obsessed with! Our customer chose to go for a two tone painted kitchen in “Graphite” & “White Grey”. The worktops are by Silestone.

Reworked Bauformat Kitchen in Findon Village, West Sussex We’re seeing more than ever before that our clients are seeking to incorporate open plan living into their homes. With older style properties built in a different era, significant building work must be undertaken to transform traditionally separated rooms into a free-flowing kitchen and dining space. The new-age, open plan style of living is what enticed these local clients into undertaking a vast renovation, which needless to say, undertook a vast number of trades, including our internal building work service which has been used to manipulate the existing space into the client’s vision. With a multi-functional design to fit the project brief, managing director Phil has created a fantastic design to fit the new space with additional functionality and visually appealing design inclusions. The Previous Kitchen The previous layout of the space was comprised of a separate kitchen and dining room space. To create the desired layout, the internal wall has been removed, with a door out to a conservatory blocked off and finished, alongside newly fitted French doors into a living room. Full plastering has been undertaken were necessary, with a boiler discretely integrated into a cupboard space, and new Honed Oyster Slate Karndean flooring fitted throughout the newly created space. Kitchen Furniture This furniture used for this project makes use of our newest kitchen supplier Bauformat. Bauformat are a German supplier known for their extensive choice and unique colourways, with the colours opted for playing a key part in this kitchen aesthetic. Another unique Bauformat inclusion in this kitchen is the inverted handleless rail system: CP35. The name of which comes from the 35° inverted integrated handle used to operate kitchen drawers and doors. To create bold contrast in this space two finishes have been used from the Porto S range, with both having used in the silky-matt finish that is again unique to a Bauformat kitchen. The Colourways Navy and Quartz Grey have been used and with the silky-matt finish of both doors, creating a theatrical looking space thanks to the richness of Navy units. The layout of this kitchen is simple, a U-shape run utilises most of the space, with a peninsula island creating casual dining space for three. A full height run of units is adjacent, which features the main bulk of appliances and pull-out pantry drawers for organised storage. Kitchen Appliances Matching the origin of the kitchen itself, German Neff appliances feature throughout this kitchen space. A superior specification of appliances has been used all-around to incorporate useful features unique to the Neff. In terms of cooking appliances, a Neff Slide & Hide oven and combination oven provide flexible cooking options alongside heaps of innovations that help to make cooking a simpler task. A Neff fridge-freezer is integrated seamlessly behind furniture doors for a seamless design, with useful features like Fresh Safe and Low Frost integrated to optimise food storage. A Neff Hob and built-in extractor feature in this kitchen, with a built-in extractor opted for to discretely fit within the theme of the wall units. Elsewhere, a Neff dishwasher is similarly integrated into Navy base units. Kitchen Accessories A major accessory of this kitchen is the tremendous work surfaces that features throughout the U-shape of the kitchen. These surfaces are from manufacturer Silestone and have been opted for in the neutral white Arabesque colourway. The worktops neatly complement and tie in the Navy and Quartz Grey furniture, whilst reflecting light around the room nicely. An accessory you can’t miss is the vibrant splashback provided by Southern Counties Glass. Again, this splashback complements the Navy furniture and provides a wipe-clean, easy-to-maintain surface. A Blanco 1.5 bowl composite sink has been included in the subtle Pearl Grey finish, with a chrome Sterling Nesso filtering tap fitted above. Lighting as always was a key consideration for this project. Pendant lights have been fitted in the kitchen and dining area, spotlights throughout the whole space and undercabinet lighting fitted beneath all wall units for ambient light. Plentiful storage has been well-placed throughout the space with extra-wide glass sided pan drawers adding vast storage and pull-out pantry storage fitted nicely within full-height units. Additional Bathroom Renovation In addition to the kitchen and dining area, these clients also opted for the renovation of a shower room at the same time, also designed by Phil. The space is maximised by placing the shower enclosure in the alcove of the room, with remaining space used for furniture, HiB illuminating mirror and W/C. The small amount of furniture is from supplier Saneux’s … range and features a … countertop basin and … tap. … Grey tiling has been used for most of the space in this room with reflective mosaic tilling used centrally in the shower enclosure as a neat design feature. … brassware has been used in the shower for dependability. Throughout the bathroom space, pipework has been boxed-in and tiled to keep the space looking unfussy and minimal. Our Kitchen & Bathroom Design & Fitting Services As projects go, there aren’t too many that eclipse this project in terms of the trades and services involved. For the kitchen and dining area internal building work has shaped the space for the kitchen to be fitted with flooring, electrics, lighting, plastering, and carpentry used to fit new French doors. For the bathroom space, full fitting, tiling, plumbing, lighting, and electrics have been used to give the space a fresh uplift. In the early 50s, Herbert and Ruth Weiss attended a lecture by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius hosted by MIT. They were fascinated by Gropius’ description of the ‘Five Fields’ community of 60 houses he and his firm, The Architect’s Collaborative (TAC), were designing in Lexington, MA. The Weiss’ fell in love with Gropius’ vision for a grouping of 60 modern houses to be arrayed around eight acres of common land that would include a community pool and playground. They soon had one of their own.The original, TAC-designed house was a single-slope design with a modest footprint of 800 square feet. Several years later, the Weiss’ commissioned modernist architect Henry Hoover to add a living room wing and new entry to the house. Hoover’s design included a wall of glass which opens to a charming pond carved into the outcropping of granite ledge. After living in the house for 65 years, the Weiss’ sold the house to our client, who asked us to design a renovation that would respect the integrity of the vintage modern architecture. Our design focused on reorienting the kitchen, opening it up to the family room. The bedroom wing was redesigned to create a principal bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Interior finishes were edited to create a more fluid relationship between the original TAC home and Hoover’s addition. We worked closely with the builder, Patriot Custom Homes, to install Solar electric panels married to an efficient heat pump heating and cooling system. These updates integrate modern touches and high efficiency into a striking piece of architectural history.

This large open plan lounge and kitchen is filled with light thanks to the large sliding doors, with floor to ceiling glazing. The large 1200x1200 floor tiles create a clean and expansive surface.

On a leafy street in Newquay you will find one dreamy, laid-back kitchen in one dreamy, laid-back beach house. Sun & Shine Projects fit this kitchen for The Beach House in Newquay late last year and it is still giving all the feels.

For this Hove project designer Aron has combined traditional grey woodgrain furniture with sparkling white quartz work surfaces. The Brief These Hove clients required a modernisation of their kitchen space with some present-day innovations to increase functionality. In terms of style, a fusion of traditional and modern styles was needed, with an in-frame door preferred. The favoured layout was very similar to the previous, as it made the best use of the space available. A flooring improvement was also a key part of the project. Design Elements With the layout remaining quite similar, the most drastic changes to this kitchen were in the style. To achieve the modern and traditional feel, designer Aron has utilised the wood-grained Modern Classic furniture option from British supplier Mereway. It combines the in-frame structure with a traditional wood grain door front, and for this project has been used in a Castle Grey finish with cornice on full-height and wall units. The cabinetry and joinery used for this project has been handmade by our British supplier and is equipped with dovetail joinery and oak internals for drawers. A peninsula island was specified as per the previous design, which utilises sparkling quartz work surfaces in a White Attica finish. A tall door in the corner of the kitchen space appears to be extra storage, but in fact opens up to an existing pantry space. Special Inclusions A high-specification of Neff appliances has been used for this project. A Neff Slide & Hide single oven, Neff built-in microwave, Neff flexInduction hob, Neff extractor hood and Neff dishwasher all feature in the kitchen, along with the client's own American fridge freezer. For general use, a mixer tap and under-mounted 1.5 bowl Blanco have been specified, with useful drainer grooves fabricated into the work surface. Another special inclusion was the flooring, which has been improved throughout the entire kitchen and dining area. The chosen finish is a stone effect Karndean option named Grey Riven Slate. Project Feedback “My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of our recent kitchen and bathroom installations. Alexanders were terrific all the way from initial estimate stage through to handover. All of their fitters and staff were polite, professional, and very skilled tradespeople. We were very pleased that we asked them to carry out our work. “ The End Result The end result is a kitchen that achieves all the elements of the brief and more. A preferred layout has been adhered to, and the theme does really well to combine both the modern and traditional elements required. Delighted to be able to share this beautiful renovation in Keynsham. The house has had a fascinating past, with lots of different uses and functions over the years, multiple extensions had left a confused floorplan. However, a logical and thoughtful new layout for a family home was created. This the result! No extra floor area was needed (ie no more extensions), just a clear plan that resolved all the existing spaces. Here a large open kitchen dining area complete with big island unit. Contemporary German Kitchen in Rustington, West Sussex Aron has created a subtle grey theme for this Rustington project, with natural surfaces and lovely personal inclusions. The Brief This Rustington client required a modernisation of their kitchen space with special inclusions to suit the way they wanted to use their new kitchen. A breakfast bar island was sought after, as a place to perch and for casual eating, with a gloss finish and soft pastel tones a preferred theme. Whilst undertaking the works flooring and heating improvements were also required. Design Elements Designer Aron conjured a simple u-shape layout to make the most of this space, incorporating a breakfast bar as required, with decorative storage featured above. Gloss furniture in a Satin Grey finish has been utilised, which reflects around the space to make the room feel larger. The furniture is complemented by Silestone Quartz surfaces, which have been chosen in a natural grey Moorland Fog finish. The client has chosen to incorporate their favoured pastel colour in the form of a glass splashback, which works well with the Satin Grey cabinetry. Karndean flooring has been installed within the kitchen as well as in most of the downstairs space in this property. A full-height radiator has also been installed to provide plenty of warmth to the kitchen. Special Inclusions High-performance Neff appliances were specified to provide long-lasting functions to the kitchen. The client has opted for a single Slide & Hide oven, combination oven and warming drawer to help them with cooking duties. Elsewhere a Neff hob, integrated extractor hood and refrigerator complete the appliance requirements for this project. To decorate the space, this client has opted for some nice storage areas. An underlit shelf is a nice feature and space to store decorative items, which looks particularly nice with the undercabinet lighting also opted for. Quartz work surfaces have been installed on the large window sill, which has been nicely decorated with plants and decorations. Project Highlight The highlight of this project was the breakfast bar area. It provides a place to eat at any time of day or a nice space to catch up with friends and has been enhanced with glass-fronted wall cabinets and integrated lighting. This area also helps to equip the kitchen with extra built-in storage. The End Result The end result is a kitchen that incorporates all the requirements of the client and more! In a relatively compact space, Aron has designed a complete and functional kitchen, with plenty of special inclusions and decorative features for this Rustington client.
