The property is a Victorian mid-terrace family home in London Fields, within the Graham Road & Mapledene Conservation Area. The property is a great example of a period Victorian terraced house with some fantastic original details still in tact. Despite this the property was in poor condition and desperately needed extensive refurbishment and upgrade. As such a key objective of the brief was to overhaul the existing property, and replace all roof finishes, windows, plumbing, wiring, bathrooms, kitchen and internal fixtures & finishes. Despite the generous size of the property, an extension was required to provide a new open plan kitchen, dining and living hub. The new wraparound extension was designed to retain a large rear courtyard which had dual purpose: firstly the courtyard allowed a generous amount of daylight and natural ventilation into the new dining area, existing rear reception/ study room and the new downstairs shower room and utility zone. Secondly, as the property is end of terrace a side access from the street already existed, therefore the rear courtyard allowed a second access point at the centre of the ground floor plan. Around this entrance are located a new cloaks area, ground floor WC and shower room, together with a large utility zone providing most of the utilities and storage requirements for the property. At first floor the bathroom was reconfigured and increased in size, and the ceilings to both the bathroom and bedroom within the rear projection were vaulted, creating a much greater sense of space, and also allowing rooflights to bring greater levels of daylight and ventilation into these rooms. The property was fully refitted with new double glazed sash windows to the front and new timber composite windows to the rear. A new heating system was installed throughout, including new column radiators to all rooms, and a hot water underfloor heating system to the rear extension. The existing cellar was damp proofed and used to house the new heating system and utility room. A carefully coordinated palette of materials and standard products are then used to provide both high performance, and also a simple modern aesthetic which we believe compliments the quality and character of the period features present in the property. https://www.archea.co/section492684_746999.html

Contemporary German Kitchen in Rustington, West Sussex Aron has created a subtle grey theme for this Rustington project, with natural surfaces and lovely personal inclusions. The Brief This Rustington client required a modernisation of their kitchen space with special inclusions to suit the way they wanted to use their new kitchen. A breakfast bar island was sought after, as a place to perch and for casual eating, with a gloss finish and soft pastel tones a preferred theme. Whilst undertaking the works flooring and heating improvements were also required. Design Elements Designer Aron conjured a simple u-shape layout to make the most of this space, incorporating a breakfast bar as required, with decorative storage featured above. Gloss furniture in a Satin Grey finish has been utilised, which reflects around the space to make the room feel larger. The furniture is complemented by Silestone Quartz surfaces, which have been chosen in a natural grey Moorland Fog finish. The client has chosen to incorporate their favoured pastel colour in the form of a glass splashback, which works well with the Satin Grey cabinetry. Karndean flooring has been installed within the kitchen as well as in most of the downstairs space in this property. A full-height radiator has also been installed to provide plenty of warmth to the kitchen. Special Inclusions High-performance Neff appliances were specified to provide long-lasting functions to the kitchen. The client has opted for a single Slide & Hide oven, combination oven and warming drawer to help them with cooking duties. Elsewhere a Neff hob, integrated extractor hood and refrigerator complete the appliance requirements for this project. To decorate the space, this client has opted for some nice storage areas. An underlit shelf is a nice feature and space to store decorative items, which looks particularly nice with the undercabinet lighting also opted for. Quartz work surfaces have been installed on the large window sill, which has been nicely decorated with plants and decorations. Project Highlight The highlight of this project was the breakfast bar area. It provides a place to eat at any time of day or a nice space to catch up with friends and has been enhanced with glass-fronted wall cabinets and integrated lighting. This area also helps to equip the kitchen with extra built-in storage. The End Result The end result is a kitchen that incorporates all the requirements of the client and more! This luxury kitchen was designed for our clients based in Denham, West London. Tall ceiling high dark walnut units are designed across the outer of the kitchen. A stand out island takes centre stage with Siemens gas and induction hobs for cooking and space to fit up to 6 people. A pop up socket with plug and usb power is cleverly hidden within the worktop, allowing easy access to use worktop appliances or laptops when working from home. Beautifully lit brass shelves are incorporate into the design and match the warm brown and gold colour veins in the worktop. The kitchen features a bespoke hidden pantry and bar with carbon grey internal units. Appliances used through out the kitchen include, Siemens, Falmac and Quooker.

Looking to create a showstopper kitchen that is warm and comfortable, this space combines two beautiful colours; Slate Blue and Vintage Pink to create a space that ties in with the colour scheme of the open-plan living area, while remaining practical.

Authentic British Kitchen in Hove, East Sussex

For this Hove project designer Aron has combined traditional grey woodgrain furniture with sparkling white quartz work surfaces. The Brief These Hove clients required a modernisation of their kitchen space with some present-day innovations to increase functionality. In terms of style, a fusion of traditional and modern styles was needed, with an in-frame door preferred. The favoured layout was very similar to the previous, as it made the best use of the space available. A flooring improvement was also a key part of the project. Design Elements With the layout remaining quite similar, the most drastic changes to this kitchen were in the style. To achieve the modern and traditional feel, designer Aron has utilised the wood-grained Modern Classic furniture option from British supplier Mereway. It combines the in-frame structure with a traditional wood grain door front, and for this project has been used in a Castle Grey finish with cornice on full-height and wall units. The cabinetry and joinery used for this project has been handmade by our British supplier and is equipped with dovetail joinery and oak internals for drawers. A peninsula island was specified as per the previous design, which utilises sparkling quartz work surfaces in a White Attica finish. A tall door in the corner of the kitchen space appears to be extra storage, but in fact opens up to an existing pantry space. Special Inclusions A high-specification of Neff appliances has been used for this project. A Neff Slide & Hide single oven, Neff built-in microwave, Neff flexInduction hob, Neff extractor hood and Neff dishwasher all feature in the kitchen, along with the client's own American fridge freezer. For general use, a mixer tap and under-mounted 1.5 bowl Blanco have been specified, with useful drainer grooves fabricated into the work surface. Another special inclusion was the flooring, which has been improved throughout the entire kitchen and dining area. The chosen finish is a stone effect Karndean option named Grey Riven Slate. Project Feedback “My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of our recent kitchen and bathroom installations. Alexanders were terrific all the way from initial estimate stage through to handover. All of their fitters and staff were polite, professional, and very skilled tradespeople. We were very pleased that we asked them to carry out our work. “ The End Result The end result is a kitchen that achieves all the elements of the brief and more.
