We purchased our home while already under construction and had our first of many positive experiences with them finishing the construction to our tastes and design. Since 2016 we have had them do multiple big projects. “I'm happy to give Scott Curtice my strongest positive recommendation. Our project went quite smoothly, staying on schedule thanks to the fact that my office is in the house and Scott's commitment to providing a foreman. This enabled us to make decisions quickly and address problems promptly. Scott and his crew showed a lot of creativity in meeting our requirement to stay in the house during the renovation, to the extent of setting up a temporary kitchen and shower in the basement. In the end, we only had to be out of the house for about a week. He was also very good about coordinating with our architect and the cabinetmaker that we selected ourselves. Having heard a few horror stories of renovation cost overruns, I think we also did well in this respect. Our final figure was about 10% more than the initial estimate due to the kind of unforeseen issues that can be expected on any such project, along with a few changes that we ordered. The level of detail Scott provides in his constantly updated spreadsheet also helped us to make some decisions that reduced our cost.”

“We cannot imagine that any group could have done better in renovating our 1862-built home than Gary Streck CRM, Inc. They oversaw a top-to-bottom refitting of a home that was poorly lit, had knob-and-tube wiring, lacked central air conditioning, and had the original Victorian woodwork (which while beautiful showed the ravages of time). They had access to skilled artisans who brought care and imagination to the thousands of puzzles posed by making a house modern but preserving period detail. Bathrooms were remodeled, a state-of-the-art home theater was created, and a whole floor was reconstructed. Gary Streck CRM kept them on the job, on deadline, and within budget. Always professional and always setting the highest standards for any of the jobs performed. Thanks to them, we know that we live in an historic home but remain warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and well lit. The "Old World" level of craftmanship is evident in every room. “I have used other contractors in the past and can say that I have never had such a positive experience. The job was enormous- almost a complete house gut and I lived in my home while the work was going on- seven months ! Not Fun! But...... I arrived at the office for an interview with only my own scribbled plans. Jane spent a great deal of time understanding how I lived and then totally resigned my plans to reflect what I actually wanted- with many new and terrific ideas. Jeff and I discussed every change I wanted and what it would cost on a regular basis. There was unbelievable communication. I always received a call back from someone within an hour , even on weekends. The crew is lovely and they spent a lot of time screening off my living areas and cleaning up. Once I even changed my mind about a wall and some electrical work just as they finished it - and they redid it all on the spot - no problem. They have a set crew and I got to know them all. Living with them - they became like family. If I requested a particular carpenter for a particular job- he was sent. If they got behind the schedule , they would work on weekends and evenings to catch up. Mike is great and supervises every small thing. I would really like to thank them all. I especially would like to thank Jesse for all the extra little things he did to make my "life in construction" more comfortable. Reading this , it sounds like they paid me - but I definitely paid them:-) I still call if I think something is "funky" and they are over here right a way to take a look. The completed house is more beautiful than what I imagined and everyone seems to have taken great pride in their work. I would never use anyone else.”

“At many points during a project, a contractor faces the choice between doing passable work quickly and doing it right. Matt chooses the time-consuming approach because the outcome is better for the consumer and meets Matt's standards. The quality of his finished product is correspondingly high. I liked very much how Matt interacted with me over the many design decisions that arose as a project progressed. Some contractors might overrule the customer (they know better), while others might just do what the customer wants. Matt considered carefully what I proposed, weighed that against his own expertise, and explained his reasoning. We collaborated to make decisions that we both felt were right. Matt is also reliable. When he says he will be there at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, he shows up on Tuesday before 8:00, not two days later with no explanation for disappearing.”
