“The Salamander Co. built the home in Taos where we curreently live. The house is a showcase inside and out. The details, the woodwork, tile,plaster etc. are superb. This is a highly knowlegable, highly professional company. Every time I show off the house I make sure to point out the details such as the wide windowsills or the back screen porch with a brick floor, and red pine half walls and posts coming seamlessly out of the top. “Ian took over our half finished build that was a complete mess. He approached the situation intelligently, positively, and was oriented towards problem solving. He took over a difficult situation and applied himself, and we ended up with a beautifully functioning house. We just spent our first christmas there and it works perfectly for us in regards to energy use and practical needs. He is a perfectionist and in my opinion that is a good thing in a contractor. During the build we were not on site and we could trust him thoroughly. His integrity was highly appreciated.”

We are satisfied with Loveless Custom Builders. They provided the expertise, but also integrated our tastes and desires. For example: We were having trouble finding railing for the deck. They found some wonderful salvage from a motel upgrading its swimming pool enclosure. It came out great.
The unique characteristic of this outfit is that they only do one project at a time, and get it done fast. That's why we chose them over another company. They lived up to their reputation and promises schedule-wise.
Not only would we hire them again, we did! In addition to the addition, they came back to build a retaining wall for a terrace, and detached three-bay garage, which they sell as a kit. We did a variation where the third bay is a wood shop. They built a nice custom rolling barn door between the shop and the garage.
Final note: Loveless Custom Building is a family company, father & son (plus small crew.) The father and son have a great relationship, work well together. It's refreshing to have so little drama and dysfunction.”

The second project was a garden shed. The combination of Phillip's design skills and his crews excellent workmanship made this another dream come true for me.”
