“We found in particular that Moneca was really wonderful at listening to us and to how we use our home and backyard. This was reflected in the ideas she generated for us. “We hired Gordon Weima Design Builder and his associated trades based on a recommendation from our architect. Mr. Weima served as the project manager. He was responsible to hire the trades, monitor their work and schedule, and oversee the construction budget. The project at hand was to build a modern addition to an existing century old house and modernized the interior of the existing house. The house is located in a heritate district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The work was performed pursuant to the specifications as outlined in the plans provided by the architect. By the end of the project, the living space increased by 75 per cent. Mr. Weima and his trades did excellent work. Apart from a situation out of his control, the work was completed on time and within budget. He was able to schedule his trades to ensure that there would be no down time between the various phases of construction. This enabled us to plan for our move back into the house. We very much like the work that he and his trades did. His after service has also been very good. During the construction phase he took the time to point out some deficiencies that normally we would not have observed. Also, during the construction phase, he took the time to walk us through questions/concerns that we had and advised us how he would address the matter. Mr. Weima also kept the construction site clean and ensured that his trades did not encroach on the property of adjacent neighbours. We would welcome the opportunity to work with Mr. Weima in the future should we decide to undertake a similar project in the future. I would invite you to seriously consider Mr. Weima as part of your construction plans, whether it be to build an addition or new house. Mr. Weima will deliver you a quality product which I am certain you will not be deceived.”

“J. Pallen & Son's Construction were very professional, organized and detail-oriented while building our custom dream home. They worked with us from the initial design process to completion. They were always quick to respond to questions and were extremely knowledgable in all aspects of home design and construction including the latest technology, such as Insulated Concrete Form ( ICF ) foundations and Energy Efficient materials. They were innovative to accommodate special features in our home, such creating a niche in our kitchen cabinet wall that allowed a full size 36" fridge to appear as a counter depth fridge as well as a two-sided fireplace in the Master Suite that could be enjoyed while in the soaker tub. J. Pallen & Son's also designed into our home the ability to have wheelchair accessible features such as a rough-in for an elevator and a barrier free roll-in shower should the need arise. We were so happy with their craftsmanship and dedication that we had them come back to complete a portion of our unfinished lower level and are planning another project to be completed by them in the near future. This company definitely has a passion for home building and we highly them for all projects small and large.”
