“I hired J & K to upgrade my electric to 200 amp and install wiring in a new bedroom and bathroom and entryway that I had added. He was not the cheapest estimate that I got, nor the most expensive but he was thorough. He was familiar with the local codes and saved me some green by making sure my project would get passed by the local inspectors. Electric is not something you want botched up. What a good job he did and I had to be gone most of the time. Never at any time did I feel that I had to go back and check his work or second guess anything he did. He completed this job in a reasonable amount of time and worked very well with the contracter that was co ordinating the entire project. Thank you J and K”

“Granite City Electric (previously Major Electric) has been around since I was a child and my parents drove to Pawtucket to shop. I owned a textile mill condo in the city for 10 years and purchased both lighting and ceiling fans for my 15 foot ceilings from Major Electric. They came & did a wonderful job of installing everything, including putting all lighting on dimmers. I never had any issues. In fact, I had them install new ceiling fans in my mother's condo 5 years ago. Same excellent work. I would highly recommend.”

“To be clear, I bought products here, I did not hire them for the electrical installation work. I don't think they do that. Friendly, helpful staff that leaves you alone when you want to time to explore and think on your own, and gives you their full and helpful attention when you want that. They have all the same product catalogs that other lighting stores have, and will order anything. But while the product is the same as you could get at any lighting store, the price is not. If you are buying yourself, instead of through your contractor, it is well worth asking for the best price they can offer. Their competition offers NO discounts off the MSRP if you are not an electrician. For the one very expensive statement light fixture I purchased, I saved hundreds by shopping here. For the rest of the lighting fixtures, found better quality than I could find at the big-box stores, yet still within my budget.”

“Stanley Peck and Old Lights On offer the most beautiful and in some cases rare antique chandeliers, sconces, floor lights etc., that I think I've ever seen in one place. It's hard to choose between them all! He is amazingly helpful also, in some cases he'll even bring several to your home so you can hold them up and get an idea of what works. He's great with ideas as well and prices are much more reasonable than many in NYC.”
