“We worked with Garden Gate on two major yard renovation projects, in summer 2008 and fall 2010. From concept to completion, the entire team and experience, led by designer Cathy Carr, was first rate. I would describe us as "involved" clients and our input and feedback was welcomed throughout--including thoughtful understanding of parts of the project we wished to plant ourselves. The 2010 project involved many moving parts, including removal of existing concrete/asphalt driveway, stormwater flooding mitigation, installation of flagstone patio, water feature, stone steps and driveway pavers, as well as plant installation. When the following spring thaw revealed water seepage issues, they returned without hesitation to reroute drainage and solve the problem. The projects have transformed our outdoor living space and bring us great joy as we spend lots of time outside with family and friends.”

They called back almost immediately, and within 10 days I had a landscape design that was beyond what I imagined possible. We especially like the compliments about our landscaping we receive from friends and visitors. We also use them in an annual retainer as they provide all seasonal work. “I hired Chad at Surrounds, because I was looking for someone who could transform our backyard into another area for entertaining. We trusted him. He worked closely with us to present and modify the designs. He let us know when things would not work. We wanted a football field for the kids, as well as covered porch for the back and stone patio /fireplace or the fall. The landscaping was to tastefully hide our close neighbors and provide a southern style charm with year round color and lots of green texture. It is gorgeous on all counts. They flattened the yard and stonework is perfect. We love it.”

“We used As You Like It for a project that required new landscaping, sidewalks, and stone work. We were very pleased with the design and the finished project. We get many compliments for our landscaping from passersby. Since we completed the work, we needed a repair after we backed our car into the stone retaining wall. The firm was responsive and repaired the damage at a reasonable cost.”

“Jeff has done two jobs for me and they have been excellent! On the first one - backyard patio with a boulder/rock wall - he adapted without pause when I wanted a change to one of the elements. The front yard was done with an entire tractor-trailer of PA stone and turned out to be amazing. Priced reasonably with other estimates I got for the same work.”
