Our brief was for a family-friendly, low maintenance garden with year-round colour and interest, that also attracted bees and butterflies, and that’s exactly what Emma delivered.
She also bought all the plants and materials, and created a maintenance plan to help us keep the garden looking great all year round.
Having completed the planting at the end of last summer, it was so exciting and rewarding to see the garden come to life this spring, with so many interesting and beautiful plants.

“Matt and Kat make a great duo; Kat's designs are innovative yet practical, she took into consideration the fact that we both work, making the garden low maintenance (although it doesn't look it), we have teenagers so they have somewhere to hang out, plus a little one on the way so she incorporated plenty of space for us add a tipi (another of Kat's brilliant and unique ideas). Matt's workforce were reliable and efficient, with the ability to foresee issues and address them rather than cause delays. They were polite, cleaning up after themselves each day and generally doing a smashing job. We are over the moon with our new garden, all our visitors have commented on the amazing job and we can't wait to see what it looks like during the different seasons. “After 20+ years of living in the same house which had undergone numerous changes over the years, the garden was due a ‘makeover’ it had served us well as a family garden but our needs had changed (along with the ability to manage it) therefore time to look for an ‘expert’… Anthony Arnold of Emerging Landscapes stood out from others with the time he took to listen and understand our needs, wishes and not least, budget constraints. His approach is collaborative, very important as we wished to retain a few existing features which he needed to incorporate in the design. He explained and involved us in the design process along the way, from detailed site survey (we have a terraced garden, so not an easy task) concept drawing to final plan. He is innovative and creative and his desire to create a beautiful space that answers our needs and we can enjoy for many more years with minimum maintenance was very apparent. Our enthusiasm for the garden has been re-ignited.”
