“We didn't end up hiring John Canty, but we probably should have! Our house is in need of a full gut job. John was very helpful and knowledgeable when he came in to look at our house. We ended up hiring another contractor, who we have since fired, because he worked with a friend a friend of ours. We should have known that you need to mesh with your GC and create good communication lines with them -- we learned quickly that just because a GC worked well with someone you know, it doesn't mean they'll work well with you! John was very upfront and honest about the costs and quality of the job we'd get, and we should have trusted our gut instinct to hire him! It's been 4 months and we're still waiting to get started on our house.”

The owner and principle designer, Franjo is a wealth of information and talent. His design ideas absolutely made the project go from good to spectacular. “I asked Dan Martin and his team at Goguen Construction to design a plan to build an in-law apartment above my garage and over my kitchen and bathroom area. This area will consist of a living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. I also wanted to make some changes to my existing rooms in my house. This would include adding a master bedroom and bath and a walk-in closet. They listened to my concerns and worked with me to create the perfect plan for me. Dan was willing to come to the office and meet with me after working a full day to go over all the plans. Even after the plans were complete I had asked about moving one of the bedrooms to where the living room was going to be. Dan was very accommodating and reworked the design for me without hesitation. Brenda Hancock is their Kitchen and Bath Designer. She is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with and will make your living space a dream come true. She came up with great suggestions and ideas that I would have never thought of. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism and efficient nature of his team. Their work on this design exceeded my expectations on all levels. It was a pleasure working with their team and I would highly recommend Goguen Construction to anyone that is looking to build or remodel their home.”

“Kristin helped us design both our kitchen and master bath while building our new house. We came to her with some preliminary ideas which she took and refined with us, challenging us to think of many elements we had not considered. Our design was somewhat complex with a number of challenging architectural elements to work around and she took those all in consideration very effectively. Perhaps what we appreciated most was the way she worked with a particular cabinet supplier that allowed us to purchase very high quality cabinets (Conestoga) for significantly less than other cabinet manufacturers by buying them as kits and assembling them ourselves (or with our carpenters). We estimate that the $20,000 we spent on the cabinets would have easily cost double if they came pre-assembled. However, this required Kristen to very carefully order all the right components to make sure everything fit; she even took the time to teach us how to build them herself. Our kitchen gets rave reviews from everyone who visits and we find it highly functional and pleasant to cook and entertain in, having been there now over a year. As a final mark of success, the kitchen was chosen by Netflix to be in the set for an upcoming series that will air in 2019 and will be in 6 or 7 different episodes!”
