Old furniture touched up and reupholstered along with unique touches, like Moroccan window screens as valances, make the room feel personal and inviting. “We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”

“Soudi has all the requirements for being a great designer -- she is always getting the color and scale right as well as adding balance, texture, etc. But for me, once I was comfortable with her capabilities, it was her ability and willingness to listen and understand what I wanted and then taking me in a slightly different direction, greatly improving the whole look and, importantly, my own psyche. She respected my limits on cost and incorporated the "things" that were important to me. I have worked with Soudi over ten years on projects as small as my entryway to now completely remodeling my 3200 square foot condo in Florida, using her expertise as an architect as well as an interior designer . This is a big project and her attention to detail is amazing as well as her ability to communicate with the contractors and vast knowledge of building accessibility ADA ( Americans with Disabilities Act) Code. One of her important talents is problem solving, considering both functionality and aesthetics to create a positive space . For example, she cleverly made a very challenging space in a tiny laundry room that was dominated by a hot water heater that stood 3' off the floor both usable and pretty by designing attractive, movable cabinets with screened doors to enclose (hide) the heater and keep it accessible. Soudi has met the deadlines and stayed well within budget, but most of all, the end project is beautiful.”

“Having now worked with Kim over the course of several months I cannot say enough of how awesome it has been to work with her. Kim is attentive, detailed, highly professional, flexible, reasonable, and mostly and AMAZING designer!! She started by asking us lots of questions to get an idea of what we liked; styles, colors, etc. From there we moved to wall colors and room color palettes. Lastly, we moved to the furnishings for each room. During each step Kim made sure we were happy with the decisions we made, especially the wall colors. Kim is extremely efficient and helpful. She works with your schedule and always has a plan B! We are beyond thrilled in having chosen to work with Kim!
