“We worked with Kim to restore our 1920s Craftsman home in North Park. After interviewing several other architects, we knew with 100% certainty that Kim would be the perfect fit for our project. Not only did she come up with design and layout insights that we never would have thought of, she provided thoughtful, respectful and determined guidance throughout the project. She helped in every way possible... including the eventual Mills Act designation we received for the house. My husband and I are both very demanding, and high maintenance, clients, and Kim was able to keep us happy and content at all times. She's got an incredible relationships with contractors, builders and city officials. She's just the best... PERIOD. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!”

“Kristin designed the remodel for my home in Encinitas. In a matter of a few hours she overcame design problems we had been struggling with for months, then went on to polish the design into a stand-out plan that has been a joy to live in. This was a complete home remodel. We expanded the master bath, added a new bath, moved and expanded the kitchen, expanded the living room, and added a studio. The end result took advantage of our 180-degree view (which the original design didn't) and cost far less than selling and moving into a comparable property with a similar view, if we had been able to find one.”

“After finding him on Yelp with good reviews, we had BVM design a 655 sq. ft. residence that incorporated a pre existing building. He was responsive to emails and calls and gave us a surprising number of designs. He was able to give us exactly what we wanted, despite our ideas being communicated rather poorly over the many many interruptions of small children. It was not cheap, but I don't really know what others charge. Also, when our general contractor saw the plans he said "boy, this guy knows how to draw!!" Overall, he was really easy to work with, gave us exactly what we wanted, and impressed other professionals in his field. What more could you want??”

“We are so grateful to Lindsay and the team at HLLK architects for their work on our home addition project. They helped provide an incredible design and drawings, and every little detail came out absolutely gorgeous! Their knowledge of the permit process was extremely beneficial to us as well, since this was our first time needing to go through the city. They were in constant communication with our contractor and made regular check ins to ensure every detail was being carried out in the way that we had hoped. In addition to their architectural knowledge, they acted as advocates for us to get the project moving along and completed within a reasonable time frame.
