“Foster Architecture does beautiful and well-conceived work. His approach to problem solving is both professional and calm. My project was a renovation of a 1970’s builder’s contemporary that was visually disorganized inside and out. Foster re-organized and balanced the spaces, completely transforming the interior and exterior with small aesthetic changes throughout, while integrating the building into the surrounding land, giving the house an up-to-date 21st Century look and quality. Foster’s knowledge of the aesthetic use of materials is comprehensive and creative. I highly recommend his work and look forward to working with him again in the future.”

“Anne Surchin was an excellent architect for our small farmhouse -style kitchen renovation in Southold. I had seen a friend's renovation by her and was impressed enough to then hire her for our kitchen. She is extremely knowledgeable about architectural styles and costs and was able to work within our means. She suggested an excellent builder who kept prices down. As a woman, she was especially mindful of my needs and comfort in the kitchen and was imaginative at suggesting ideas when I didn't have a clue. I would highly recommend Anne for those who have an appreciation of good architecture and would like an architect who has the same.”

Despite the difficult circumstances, he made us feel at ease from the beginning, and was a calming influence through every step of the project. We were very satisfied with the design and the finished product, but equally important, I want to emphasize that Mr. Baker was professional, trustworthy, honest, reliable, and listened closely to our requirements. “When my husband and I took on the project of completely renovating an 1846 Greek Revival house in the back country of Greenwich, we ran into difficulties with the architect we had hired. Doug VanderHorn came to our rescue! Many architects might have been unwilling to take on a project that had already started, but Doug, to my everlasting gratitude, not only agreed to work with us, but brought fresh, new, creative and improved ideas to the table. His taste is impeccable and he ended up helping me with all kinds of related issue like bathroom tiles, special effects in moldings and fireplaces and placement of furniture in a difficult room. “I've used Bob and his crew to design a den addition for us. Bob has both an architectural and design background which is a huge plus. Not only did the den look great as a room, but he was helpful at figuring out how each area would function well and what to put in that space. He worked great with my builder and was a great go between when things got a big hairy. Funny and affable, Bob was a pleasure to work with.”

“We hired Don on the recommendation of a neighbor for a major renovation of our 1919 Craftsman style bungalow into a much larger house and could not have been happier. We appreciated Don's calm, pleasant demeanor, exceptional professionalism and attention to detail. Our builder told us Don's plans were among the most detailed and flawless he's ever received; an element that made the construction process seamless. Although he's certainly worked on bigger budget builds, Don was respectful of our desire to create a "dream home" --not a McMansion--that fit into the overall landscape of our neighborhood and didn't overwhelm our property or budget. Still, he managed to create plans for an addition that incorporated many of our wants and desires yet was respectful of its vintage pedigree. We love our "new" home and would hire Don again in a heartbeat.”

“We hired Tanner to design our home renovation, which included expansion and complete overhaul of kitchen & mudroom, master suite and 3 bathrooms. He was an amazing resource for my husband and I, not only with architectural design but also with choosing finishes - everything from counter tops, fixtures, tile, lighting, down to paint colors. He worked within our budget and was there for us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Tanner for another project.”
