“I pretty much knew want I wanted to do with my project. I warned Ellen I knew enough about architecture to be dangerous. Ellen recognized my requirements and was instrumental in identifying other considerations needed for the project. Included was a need for a code variance (setback). I was informed by the city, before starting the project, a code allowance(variance) was not required. Ellen’s code research was right. A code allowance was required. With her help, the review board approved the code allowance request unanimously. Our project involves bumping the attached garage eight feet to allow for a utility room between the garage and house. The design includes moving the washer and dryer out of the basement. As simple as the project sounds, there is a lot involved. Ellen listened to my wife’s concerns and ideas on the project. Together we achieved a very efficient design. We are now in the permit and construction phase of the project. I am looking forward to Ellen’s input. Ellen deserves your serious consideration.”

I looked at the result of several renovations before hiring Carol - what was obvious in her work was a deep understanding of the technical challenges as well as a love of understated, elegant design and an eye for detail. I made the right choice. Carol's sensitivity, approachability, and unflappable resolve rescued the project. The architectural elements that Carol recommended have drawn admiration in the neighborhood, without overwhelming the original character of the house. Mission accomplished”

“The architects at TKP have great vision and practical ideas. I had spent months working with another architect to design an addition to our 55-year-old home but nothing clicked. Then Karen Keating looked all through our home, sat down and in a matter of minutes roughly sketched out a plan which included a dining nook, den, office, bath and storage room. I knew we'd found the firm with which we wanted to work. Everyone that we worked with at TKP was respectful of our ideas, and then made them even better. We love our three-year-old, 1000 square foot "new" space. It flows beautifully with the original house.”

“We hired Katrina to design a "soft contemporary" home on a mountainside site with panoramic views of downtown Denver and the front range. The site was very steep and very tight for the size home - a 2700 square foot empty-nester walkout ranch. We gave her a list of needs and a pile of digital photos from surfing the houzz website. We wanted to "live" exclusively on the main floor; the lower level would be exclusively for entertaining and and guest bedrooms. A short time later Katrina presented us a design that absolutely nailed our needs. Our concerns about a contemporary home in a primarily Old World/Tuscan neighborhood were gone immediately on seeing the exterior design. Her commercial experience with structural steel added functional drama the the design. The exterior mix of steel, stucco, stone and wood fits well in the mountain neighborhood but is dynamic enough to draw attention.The design accommodated not only a main floor great room with panoramic views, but a main floor master suite, dedicated home office, and a "flex" suite that is an office but could be a nursery or guest suite. Katrina listened, was prompt in communications, and delivered a great design at a very reasonable cost. We are often complimented on the style; we often talk about the wonderful livability.”

“First – know that Hampton Architecture is fantastic to work with. Hampton Architecture assisted my wife and me in making our vision of a modern off-grid cabin a reality. The services started with education and consultation. Hampton Architecture worked with us to collect our idea, and worked within constrains we set. Hampton Architecture painted a clear picture of the process (from concept to Certificate of Occupancy). Ethan presented a design that incorporated all of our objectives for this special property. He even took the time for an extensive site visit to capture the feel of the living land, the view angles, the topography, landscape and colors. I have minor building experience and we were not sure of the reliability of local trades in the remote mountain location – above Marble, CO. Hampton Architecture took care of all the details to get us an approved building permit with Gunnison County (one of the more stringent building code requirement Counties in the State of Colorado). Hampton Architecture proposed a building solution that would minimize our need for local labor – SIP. During the build, Ethan was available for the very few time necessary to clarify plan details – there were 4 total clarifications needed. In the end, we finish with a cabin of our dreams, built within the schedule and budget that we could afford. I’m happy to recommend Hampton Architecture to anyone how needs help turning a vision into a reality.”

“Lauren Shadid designed the remodel of my home to expand the kitchen and open up the family room, and make use of our space more efficiently. She was very thorough and diligent in her work and was very conscious in keeping within our budget. She works very well with contractors and is always available when she is needed. She was always very response to my questions and concerns. Her background in interior design is a huge bonus as she was very helpful in helping me choose colors and tile. Lauren also helped design my backyard space. We live on sloped lot and she was able to design a pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, and lounge area, whereras before we had a basketball court above the main patio area that was never used. We don't have a finished yard yet, but I can see the transformation and how much more we will enjoy our new space.”
