“We worked with Alex for approx. 2 years on our project which was just completed in July 2013. We own an 1875 Carriage House that we were looking to update, renovate and expand to modern specifications. From start to finish I felt like our dream project was in good hands. We basically tore down 75% of the original structure, renovated the remaining 25% and expanded up adding a lot of second floor living space. We found it a pleasure to work with Alex and our builder found the same thing to be true. We would recommend ADL III highly. This project totaled approx. $600,000.”

The design process was an iterative one with many revisions resulting in a modern, loft-like weekend getaway that we use almost every week. “I consider Diversified a design team, as well as a top sub-contractor, who not only identify the right construction solutions but understand a project from an architectural, engineering, and interior design perspective. I have employed Diversified to provide me with all three services, architectural plans, engineering work (including obtaining obtaining permits) and subcontracting work. Diversified does a good job in holding the subcontractors accountable that work is done well and on time. They ensure subs work in concert with one another so there are relatively few lapses in work as compared to other firms. I have not been stuck with a punch list that takes months to address. They address issues and problems right away. My level of satisfaction is so high, I have hired Diversified to work on two different houses. The first time I have ever hired a contractor more than once. The work on my first home was so well done and had such a positive impact on our curb appeal, the house was sold in 3 days! I employed them the second time when I needed a firm who could move quickly in making my fixer upper move in ready (they even helped me out in the aftermath or Super storm Sandy). While the work may be a tad more expensive, it was worth the extra investment to make sure the end product was well done. I absolutely recommend Diversified.”

“Michael Lewis is a consummate designer with years of experience, talent, and organizational ability. We felt supported by Michael and his able firm throughout our project. There was a culture of sensitivity to our needs throughout the firm and skillful handling of issues as they inevitably cropped up. The firm worked with our century old house to bring it into the modern age, by retrofitting an amazing kitchen into limited space and converting an unusable attic space into a dream master bedroom suite with dormers, increasing our living space significantly. We highly recommend this firm!”

“I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment.”

“Archetype did an amazing job for me as architects for the gut renovation of a 8,000 sf townhouse. They created a great plan, paid attention to every detail, were highly responsive in making modifications, went over and beyond the call of duty to get drawings done with a very tight deadline, and were a pleasure to work with. Navigating the permitting process in NYC is complex and arbitrary, but working with Archetype made it quite painless. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again in the near future and would highly recommend them.”
