“We hired David to design a complete re-build of a small bungalow cottage in Stone Harbor, NJ. Our decision was based on some very impressive homes he designed on the island, as well as excellent references from past clients. David's charge was challenging - design a classic shore cottage with a strong attention to architectural detail and lots of functionality in a very small space (while staying within budget). David more than exceeded expectations. The project was completed in 2012, and the house is fabulous!! It was selected by a local charity for its annual fundraising tour of distinctive homes. To this day we are still receiving compliments from passers-by whenever we sit out on the front porch. David was a pleasure to work with - always good-natured and accommodating - and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the design - including (but not limited to) exterior roofing and siding, interior woodwork, bathrooms, kitchen, and lighting.”

“Jeff Spoelker was excellent through the whole process. My wife and I loved the work that he had done when he was with Lyman Perry Assoc. We wanted the Nantucket look even though we were only building on an 18 acre lake. One of his strengths beyond design was bringing ideas to us on types of light fixtures, flooring choices, and even landscape options that would work. For example, as we moved through the planning process, Jeff recommended that we put in a fire pit down by the lake. We would have never thought of it. We have had so much fun using it with friends, family and neighbors. The bottom line for us was we really didn't know what we wanted when we started thinking about building our "dream home". Hiring a good architect is a must. Jeff is one of them!”

“'When we moved into our 1920’s stone colonial, it was in drastic need of updated wiring, plumbing, and mechanics. We also wanted to update the interior, making it more inviting and use-able for our family needs while still honoring the feel of this century old home. When we first spoke with Emily, we knew right away she would be someone to help make this massive transformation, a joy, rather than burden. From start to finish, Emily was incredible, patiently listening to our visions for the house, curating designs, textures, colors, and pieces, all based on observing and understanding our own styles. The finished result - a house, a home, that is exactly as we had envisioned, making better use of the space, while still keeping the original charm of this house. Emily was spot on with her eye…. From architectural work, to interior details, making this 10 month renovation process that much simpler, and easier. We would highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for architectural and design work for their home.'”

“We are very pleased with the result of more than a year's work, starting with pen and paper and a discussion on what we needed in a home, reviewing and editing floor plans, getting to plot plans, elevation views, and ultimately a final set of plans. This was no easy task, considering we were building a new home post-Sandy, at the Jersey Shore, and with flood maps changing during the process, being in dual zoning districts, and with required building heights uncertain. But, finally, we are done (mostly!) Scott, Jack and Bill were all great to deal with, they listened to our needs and wants, and helped us make decisions on the trade-offs you always need to consider when space is limited on the lot and you have a long list of needs and wants. The style of the house is a cape cod, the architectural detail is outstanding and it fits well into the existing neighborhood which is situated one block from the start of the historic district here in Ocean City. Ultimately, we love the house and get compliments on it every single day from strangers walking past and from family and friends who are visiting. So many people have asked us if they can have a tour. Thanks Scott, Jack and Bill for everything.”
