Bob & Sue's Hallway Reno
This is the living room toss cushion you provided me with, as a style & colour reference for the hallway project.
Storage boxes that look like books will be stacked on the drawers
The thumbs up sculpture will be added to the space above the drawers, as a playful, contemporary piece of art, and as a fun reminder : you're awesome!
A potted Faux plant will be added to the space above drawers ( there is not enough natural light for real plants) and will add an element of inspired nature/ greenery.
This is the runner rug that will travel the length of the hallway. The colours here are pulled from your toss cushion, but also is the "2020 Colour of the Year" in saturated shades of blue. Gold is also seen, and will compliment the hardware used in the space. This rug will add a stylish element to our contemporary design. We will play off these colours in the rest of our palette.
Botanical "ginger jar" style prints will be hung gallery style with a sconce light above (seen in alternate thumb nail) blue is again chosen as a way to have continuity in colour, and a continued nod to an Art Deco flair.
This full length mirror will be hung at the end of the hallway. Since there are no direct windows and natural light in this hallway, It will give the illusion of more open airy space, and will reflect the beautiful finishes used in the space. A brushed gold finish will be used here also.
This fabulous sconce lighting will be hung in the hallway, opposite the built in wall. I've chosen a double sconce as it will allow ample ambient lighting for navigating the hall, as well as viewing in the storage areas. This edgy style of fixture was chosen to bring in a slight nod to the Art Deco style that were seeing in current contemporary design.
This is the gallery wall sconce that will be hung above the art. It will add ambient light to the hallway, while showcasing the art. It will be a brushed gold finish, to match the rest of the lamping in the hall.
Existing Pot lighting will remain.
This photo represents how we will build in pantry style cabinets and drawers. The millwork and moldings will match that of the wall panelling on the opposite side of hallway as well, and will be painted a warm white called Chantilly Lace (OC-65) by Benjamin Moore. The walls above and around will be painted a pale toned down grey with blue undertones called White Waters, by Benjamin Moore (2120-60). Ceiling will be a crisp, true white. The floor will be kept as is, utilizing your medium brown hardwood. Brushed gold hardware will be used for doors and cupboards
