Wine is one of the few things that can improve with age. But it can also rapidly deteriorate if kept in inadequate conditions. The three factors that have the most direct impact on a wine's condition are light, humidity and temperature. Another consideration is security for expensive wines that often appreciate in value. The storage area features a cedar panel ceiling, and custom racks and shelves over a granite floor.

This gorgeous, contemporary wine cellar makes its home in a basement in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California. This Wine cellar was a very special collaborative project undertaken with the homeowner. It is always an incredible pleasure to assist in turning a wine cellar dream into a reality. The Homeowner's vision was to create this entire underground space from scratch. A stunning wooden grille covers the cooling unit face inside the contemporary wine cellar. The Modern feel and design of this wine room, heightened by a very clean, contemporary room feel itself, metal 'Contempo' wine racking, and straight lines throughout, is becoming more popular in chic homes throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, and San Diego Counties alike. Upon walking down the staircase into the modern wine cellar, a backlit horizontal display wall greets you with wines more suitable for drinking now. This space is not temperature and humidity controlled. Walk a few more feet down the staircase, however, and feast your eyes on this beautiful, contemporary showpiece wine cellar. The custom wine cellar design incorporates a mixture of wooden, metal, and glass features with backlit wine showcasing walls, roll out shelving, individual bottle storage, high reveal angled bottle display, wine case storage space, diamond bins, and even a cigar humidor. An ultra-modern wine room in one of Portland's most desired zip codes. Custom-built acrylic shelving in this walk-in wine room creates the dramatic appearance of 600 bottles of wine floating in mid-air. Lighting effects add to the futuristic vibe and establish a luxurious aesthetic that links the walk-in wine cellar to the exterior bar and shelves. Bridging the two spaces, a floor-to-ceiling steel ledge bottle display and a chic sitting area create the perfect alcove for sipping that La Landonne.

This wine room is made of three glass walls and custom lucite wine racks. The back wall features a backlighted led panel made from white acrylic. The countertops feater onyx that is backlight with a waterfall edge.

Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Homes Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA Interior design, space planning and architectural details converge thoughtfully in this transformative project. A 15-year old, 9,000 sf. home with generic interior finishes and odd layout needed bold, modern, fun and highly functional transformation for a large bustling family. To redefine the soul of this home, texture and light were given primary consideration. Elegant contemporary finishes, a warm color palette and dramatic lighting defined modern style throughout. A cascading chandelier by Stone Lighting in the entry makes a strong entry statement. Walls were removed to allow the kitchen/great/dining room to become a vibrant social center. A minimalist design approach is the perfect backdrop for the diverse art collection. Yet, the home is still highly functional for the entire family. We added windows, fireplaces, water features, and extended the home out to an expansive patio and yard. The cavernous beige basement became an entertaining mecca, with a glowing modern wine-room, full bar, media room, arcade, billiards room and professional gym. Bathrooms were all designed with personality and craftsmanship, featuring unique tiles, floating wood vanities and striking lighting.
