Our client’s charming cottage was no longer meeting the needs of their family. We needed to give them more space but not lose the quaint characteristics that make this little historic home so unique. So we didn’t go up, and we didn’t go wide, instead we took this master suite addition straight out into the backyard and maintained 100% of the original historic façade. Master Suite This master suite is truly a private retreat. We were able to create a variety of zones in this suite to allow room for a good night’s sleep, reading by a roaring fire, or catching up on correspondence. The fireplace became the real focal point in this suite. Wrapped in herringbone whitewashed wood planks and accented with a dark stone hearth and wood mantle, we can’t take our eyes off this beauty. With its own private deck and access to the backyard, there is really no reason to ever leave this little sanctuary. Master Bathroom The master bathroom meets all the homeowner’s modern needs but has plenty of cozy accents that make it feel right at home in the rest of the space. A natural wood vanity with a mixture of brass and bronze metals gives us the right amount of warmth, and contrasts beautifully with the off-white floor tile and its vintage hex shape. Now the shower is where we had a little fun, we introduced the soft matte blue/green tile with satin brass accents, and solid quartz floor (do you see those veins?!). And the commode room is where we had a lot fun, the leopard print wallpaper gives us all lux vibes (rawr!) and pairs just perfectly with the hex floor tile and vintage door hardware. Hall Bathroom We wanted the hall bathroom to drip with vintage charm as well but opted to play with a simpler color palette in this space. We utilized black and white tile with fun patterns (like the little boarder on the floor) and kept this room feeling crisp and bright.

APARTMENT BERLIN VII Eine Berliner Altbauwohnung im vollkommen neuen Gewand: Bei diesen Räumen in Schöneberg zeichnete THE INNER HOUSE für eine komplette Sanierung verantwortlich. Dazu gehörte auch, den Grundriss zu ändern: Die Küche hat ihren Platz nun als Ort für Gemeinsamkeit im ehemaligen Berliner Zimmer. Dafür gibt es ein ruhiges Schlafzimmer in den hinteren Räumen. Das Gästezimmer verfügt jetzt zudem über ein eigenes Gästebad im britischen Stil. Bei der Sanierung achtete THE INNER HOUSE darauf, stilvolle und originale Details wie Doppelkastenfenster, Türen und Beschläge sowie das Parkett zu erhalten und aufzuarbeiten. Darüber hinaus bringt ein stimmiges Farbkonzept die bereits vorhandenen Vintagestücke nun angemessen zum Strahlen. The client was looking for a woodland aesthetic for this master en-suite. The green textured tiles and dark wenge wood tiles were the perfect combination to bring this idea to life. The wall mounted vanity, wall mounted toilet, tucked away towel warmer and wetroom shower allowed for the floor area to feel much more spacious and gave the room much more breathability. The bronze mirror was the feature needed to give this master en-suite that finishing touch.

This contemporary bath design in Springfield is a relaxing retreat with a large shower, freestanding tub, and soothing color scheme. The custom alcove shower enclosure includes a Delta showerhead, recessed storage niche with glass shelves, and built-in shower bench. Stunning green glass wall tile from Lia turns this shower into an eye catching focal point. The American Standard freestanding bathtub pairs beautifully with an American Standard floor mounted tub filler faucet. The bathroom vanity is a Medallion Cabinetry white shaker style wall-mounted cabinet, which adds to the spa style atmosphere of this bathroom remodel. This family of 5 was quickly out-growing their 1,220sf ranch home on a beautiful corner lot. Rather than adding a 2nd floor, the decision was made to extend the existing ranch plan into the back yard, adding a new 2-car garage below the new space - for a new total of 2,520sf. With a previous addition of a 1-car garage and a small kitchen removed, a large addition was added for Master Bedroom Suite, a 4th bedroom, hall bath, and a completely remodeled living, dining and new Kitchen, open to large new Family Room. The new lower level includes the new Garage and Mudroom. The existing fireplace and chimney remain - with beautifully exposed brick. The homeowners love contemporary design, and finished the home with a gorgeous mix of color, pattern and materials. The project was completed in 2011. Unfortunately, 2 years later, they suffered a massive house fire. The house was then rebuilt again, using the same plans and finishes as the original build, adding only a secondary laundry closet on the main level.
