Overlooking Semiamhoo Bay, Galadriel is a refined, modern home with the warmth and strength inherently found in West Coast architecture. Textures of natural stone, Douglas fir, glass and steel unify the interior with its geographical setting - surrounded by evergreens and unrestricted views of the ocean. The entrance to the home is accessed by a crossing above a reflecting pool, in which sits a stunning and solitary bonsai which is illuminated from above through an oculus in the roof’s overhang. Expansive outdoor spaces featuring fire features and seating areas are connected by a curved metal staircase set over a blackened steel reflecting pool, adding a graphic element to the rear of the home. Clerestory glazing in an elevated roof area offers an opening into the tree canopy towards the front of the property and allows light to permeate the interior of the home, while full height windows throughout maximize the impressive views. Living spaces throughout provide ample room for entertaining and comfort. Creativity is shown in the many colourful and whimsical accents. The master bedroom features two ensuite baths - a unique request that makes good sense for the owners. Spaces for work, writing and art were given priority reflecting the values and livelihood of our clients. Projecting from a stone clad wall, cantilevered white oak stair treads lead to an extraordinary wine display that incorporates a sculptural component taken as a memento from our client’s work as a producer in the film industry, adding a strong personal dimension. This two story wine cellar is separated by a glass floor, with metal frames attached direct to it. Crazy cool ingenuity on this one. Fully climate controlled. Holds 912 bottles.

Coto De Caza, Orange County, California is home to some incredible houses and wine cellars. This one is definitely no exception. Welcome to the ultimate entertainment space, a man cave of sorts. Elegant and clean - this space literally has it all. A custom home bar lines the back wall with a big screen TV overhead, showcasing the local Angels game. A Pool / Billiards table sits right behind it, cozied up to the lounge - the perfect spot to share a glass of wine and a cuban cigar with the buddies. Even the ping pong table across the room fits perfectly with the decor. And then there's the wine cellar. Oh this wine cellar! In the corner, not to be forgotten is the custom wine cellar / custom wine room / custom wine vault. This wine cellar matches the room in its modern and sleek look with glass, metal, and marble. An entire glass front makes for a stunning wine display, creating a literal art piece that steals the show in an already jaw dropping room. This contemporary wine cellar boasts capacity for upwards of 500 bottles, most displayed in horizontal fashion for maximum label display and graceful aging potential. Triple deep chrome metal wine racks play host to a library of collectible wines - floor to ceiling on each side wall, and waist height to ceiling in the middle. An extravagant slab of grey and white marble countertop enriches the space, jetting out into a peninsula with space for additional large format bottles below. This custom grey stained Oak wine cabinetry holds space for large format coved trays, perfect for showcasing those Magnums, Jeroboams and more. This peninsula lends perfectly to a tasting table - the ideal location to open and decant your favorite wines. Below the countertops lie space for individual bottles as well as room for original wood cases in either corner. The cherry on top might be the backlighting as it brings it all together and really makes this custom wine cellar shine! A majestic chandelier hangs above bringing that much more elegance to the space.
