The brief was to create a Classic Contemporary Ensuite and Principle bedroom which would be home to a number of Antique furniture items, a traditional fireplace and Classical artwork. We created key zones within the bathroom to make sufficient use of the large space; providing a large walk-in wet-floor shower, a concealed WC area, a free-standing bath as the central focus in symmetry with his and hers free-standing basins. We ensured a more than adequate level of storage through the vanity unit, 2 bespoke cabinets next to the window and above the toilet cistern as well as plenty of ledge spaces to rest decorative objects and bottles. We provided a number of task, accent and ambient lighting solutions whilst also ensuring the natural lighting reaches as much of the room as possible through our design. Our installation detailing was delivered to a very high level to compliment the level of product and design requirements.

When re-working a space, it pays to consider your priorities early on. We discussed the pros and cons of tearing out the bathroom and starting fresh vs. giving it a facelift. In the end, we decided that the buget was better spent on new solid oak herringbone flooring and new doors throughout. To give the space a more modern look, we opted to re-do the sink area with custom corian shelving and replaced all faucets for matte black ones. A lick of fresh, water-resistant paint, new lighting and some decorative elements (like the waffle towels seen left) gave the space a new lease of life.

A Relaxed Coastal Bathroom showcasing a sage green subway tiled feature wall combined with a white ripple wall tile and a light terrazzo floor tile. This family-friendly bathroom uses brushed copper tapware from ABI Interiors throughout and features a rattan wall hung vanity with a stone top and an above counter vessel basin. An arch mirror and niche beside the vanity wall complements this user-friendly bathroom. From what was once a humble early 90’s decor space, the contrast that has occurred in this ensuite is vast. On return from a holiday in Japan, our clients desired the same bath house cultural experience, that is known to the land of onsens, for their own ensuite. The transition in this space is truly exceptional, with the new layout all designed within the same four walls, still maintaining a vanity, shower, bath and toilet. Our designer, Eugene Lombard put much careful consideration into the fittings and finishes to ensure all the elements were pulled together beautifully. The wet room setting is enhanced by a bench seat which allows the user a moment of transition between the shower and hot, deep soaker style bath. The owners now wake up to a captivating “day-spa like experience” that most would aspire to on a holiday, let alone an everyday occasion. Key features like the underfloor heating in the entrance are added appeal to beautiful large format tiles along with the wood grain finishes which add a sense of warmth and balance to the room.
