Hired mid demolition, Regan Baker Design Inc. partnered with the first-time home owners and construction team to help bring this two-bedroom two-bath condo some classic casual character. Cabinetry design, finish selection, furniture and accessories were all designed and implemented within a 6-month period. To add interest in the living room RBD added white oak paneling with a v-groove to the ceiling and clad the fireplace in a terra cotta tile. A circa-1970's paneled room was transformed with new sheetrock, trim moulding, and built in bookshelves all painted in high gloss blue paint. Challenges can be blessing in disguise. A very narrow space can be transformed by creating a focal point and building around that strength. Rearranging this floor plan and creating a conversational space with the correct size furniture and purpose transformed this confusing space into a show stopper. Multiple mirrors created a dramatic focal point to the fireplace as well as spread light into a tall room with little lighting. Neutral walls and warm pops of color updated this space into a transitionally styled family living space.
