The clients wanted to see through to the rear of the house, through the great room, when entering. In addition, they wanted the flanking spaces at the entry, the dining room & living rooms, to be as open to the foyer as possible. Hence the colonnades were established left and right. The owners selected all interior finishes....for better or worse.
