The homeowner’s interest in vintage collectibles is reflected in this warm, elegant kitchen. Its centerpiece, a glass-door antique cabinet, was taken apart and carefully reassembled on site to fit the space. Other vintage items include ceiling beams crafted of reclaimed barn siding from a nearby farm and distressed white oak flooring.

Featured in Period Homes Magazine, this kitchen is an example of working with the traditional elements of the existing Victorian Period home and within the existing footprint. The Custom cabinets recall the leaded glass windows in the main stair hall and front door.

This contemporary kitchen balances the lightness of white countertops with the dark chocolate stained rift oak cabinets and a granite slab island that pulls it all together. The clients’ wanted a working kitchen that allows a cook and separate prep cook to work together without interference while keeping the clean lines of the entire space. Upon a closer look it has hidden gems enhancing its efficiency and functionality. The glass tile backsplash not only adds a touch of luster but it easy to clean. Just across the range top is a six inch deep cabinet within reach containing all the necessary spices and oils. Hidden right next to the pantry is a cork board and ironing board making this space both beautiful and mult-ifunctional. The island is a divider to the main living space, a place to store cookbooks and wine bottles, and also provides enough space for guests and a prep area. The bar area boasts a second sink, chilled wine refrigerator and a built in coffee machine so that anyone can obtain their favorite beverage without interfering with the rest of the space. With all of this in view from the main living area it was important that it still maintains the feel of a living space and not just a kitchen. Incorporating cabinets that show the collection of colorful dishes behind reeded glass along with a display shelf above the sink not only prove to be useful but draws the eye to the beauty of the space. This kitchen that is both functional with every square inch and maintains the clients’ desires for honest clean lines creates stunning first impression while also creating an inviting environment.

This kitchen showcases a harmonious blend of contemporary design and classic architecture. The room is well-lit, with natural light streaming in from a large window on the left. The ceiling features intricate crown molding, indicative of the building's Grade 2 listing and historical significance. Three elegant pendant lights with a brass finish and frosted glass shades hang above the central island, which is topped with a pristine white countertop. The island also incorporates a built-in sink and a cooktop, offering functionality within its streamlined form. Two modern bar stools with curved silhouettes and dark wooden legs are positioned at the island, providing casual seating. The kitchen cabinetry is minimalistic, with handleless doors painted in a muted off-white tone that complements the overall neutral palette. A splashback of white marble adds a touch of luxury and ties in with the countertop. The flooring is laid in a herringbone pattern, adding texture and a classic touch to the space. This sun-filled farmhouse kitchen is the focal point of this home’s new addition. The kitchen is white with wood elements, giving it a contemporary feel. From the recessed outlets in the island, to the columns adorning the island, to the hood with walnut trim, to the paneled refrigerator that matches the cabinetry, every detail was customized for the homeowners. The kitchen is anchored by a large island with seating for seven and tons of storage. The island is bookended by additional components topped by walnut butcher block counters. One end serves as a table and the other end is an extra area for food prep and storage. There is also a cutting board integrated into the sink. The white quartz on the island and main kitchen counters and white subway tile backsplash give the kitchen a modern, sleek look. The walnut trim around the hood is a special touch that ties directly into the walnut butcher block counters. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel.
