Natural German Kitchen in Mannings Heath, West Sussex Our contract team completed this stone effect kitchen for a three-plot barn conversion near Mannings Heath. The Brief This project was undertaken as part of a barn conversion for a local property developer, with our contract kitchen team designing and installing this project. When the plot was purchased, the purchaser sought to make a few changes to suit their style and personal design requirements. A modern design was required, and a natural stone finish was eventually favoured. Design Elements A stone effect option has been used throughout the project and the finish is one from German supplier Nobilia’s Stoneart range. The natural stone finish nicely compliments the modern style of the property and has been fitted with multiple contemporary additions. Most of the kitchen furniture is used across the back wall, with full-height and wall units reaching almost wall-to-wall. A sizeable island is included and has plenty of space for bar stools and entertaining. A handleless design was favoured for the project and under rail lighting has been used to enhance the ambience in the kitchen. Special Inclusions High-quality Siemens cooking appliances have been utilised, adding great cooking functionality to this space. The IQ700 single oven, combination oven and warming drawer opted for provide lots of useful functions for the client. Elsewhere, a Siemens fridge freezer and Miele dishwasher have been integrated behind kitchen furniture. A contemporary satin grey splashback is in keeping with the stone effect furniture on the design side, whilst a 1.5 bowl under-mounted sink has been used for function. Project Highlight Plots on this development each have allocated space for a utility, which has been furnished with matching kitchen units. This utility also features a small sink and tap for convenience. The End Result The end result is a kitchen designed to perfectly suit the clients’ requirements as well as the style and layout of this new property. This project was undertaken by our contract kitchen team. SOMETIMES, A CLASSIC DESIGN IS ALL YOU NEED FOR AN OPEN-PLAN SPACE THAT WORKS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. This client wanted to extend their existing space to create an open plan kitchen where the whole family could spend time together. To meet this brief, we used the beautiful Shelford from our British kitchen range, with shaker doors in Inkwell Blue and Light Grey. The stunning kitchen island added the wow factor to this design, where the sink was located and also some beautiful oak shelving to house books and accessories. We used quartz composite worktops in Ice Branco throughout, Blanco sink and taps, and completed the space with AEG built-in and integrated appliances. We also created a functional utility room, which complemented the main kitchen design.

Classic British Kitchen in Haywards Heath, West Sussex This recent Haywards Heath kitchen project spans three rooms, making the most of classic British-made furnishings for local clients who sought an ‘all under one roof’ renovation solution. This project is located within Haywards Heath although the property is closer to the picturesque village of Lindfield. The overall brief for this project involved transforming three rooms into a sequence of functional spaces, with a main kitchen area, separate dining and living space as well as a spacious utility area. To bring the client’s vision to life, a doorway from the kitchen into the dining area has been created to make a flowing passage through the rooms. In addition, our fitting team have undertaken a full flooring improvement, using British Karndean flooring with underfloor heating installed as part of this comprehensive project. Lighting, electrics, and plastering have also taken place where necessary to enhance the final finish of the space. Kitchen Furniture The furniture used for this renovation is British made, using traditional carpentry and cabinetry methods. From the Mereway Signature collection, this furniture is most luxurious shaker kitchen option offered by the British kitchen maker, using dovetail joinery and robust craftsmanship for a traditional and long-lasting furniture option. The detail of the Signature collection is best showcased in the detailed shaker frame and elegant cornices that decorate full-height units and wall units. The popular Cashmere colourway has been used throughout furnishings across rooms. The layout is comprised of two parallel runs with an end run used to house sink and dishwashing facilities. The layout ensures there is plenty of floorspace in the kitchen whilst nicely leading into the next-door dining and living room. Kitchen Appliances Across the kitchen Neff appliances feature prominently for a premium specification of appliances. A sizeable Neff flexInduction hob is included with a feature glass extractor for seamless cooking, and notably, dual Neff single ovens. These possess a useful Pyrolytic cleaning ability, turning cooking residue in to ash for simple non-hazardous cleaning. Another popular inclusion in this kitchen is a built-in Neff microwave. This has been neatly integrated into wall unit furniture, removing the need for small appliances on the worktop. On a similar note, a Quooker boiling tap features above the main sink again removing the need for a traditional kettle. A Neff dishwasher and full-height refrigerator have been integrated into furniture to maintain the kitchen aesthetic. Kitchen Accessories A selection of durable and desirable features are showcased throughout this project. Organic White Quartz work surfaces feature throughout the kitchen and utility space, nicely complementing Cashmere furnishings. The end-run area utilises a undermounted stainless steel sink with drainer grooves integrated into the work surface. An integrated bin system is included here for extra convenience. Another popular feature in this kitchen is the built-in CDA wine cabinet. This model has capacity for twenty wine bottles that are precisely cooled through a regulated temperature control system. To heat the rooms, in keeping full-height radiators have been fitted throughout. In a perfect warming combination, our fitting team have expertly installed underfloor heating and Misty Grey Oak Karndean Flooring throughout the three rooms. Kitchen Features Throughout the kitchen area feature and decorative units have been included to create a unique design. Glass fronted wall units have been nicely used to showcase pertinent items and maintain the kitchen theme. Above the wine cabinet a full height exposed unit has been used as a neat and tidy decorative space. Feature storage makes the most of the space available with a full height pull-out storage and plentiful storage throughout. Dovetail joinery and oak finished drawer internals keep stored items neat and tidy whilst providing timeless handcrafted detail. Kitchen Utility & Dining Room To create a continuous theme across the three rooms, matching flooring, work surfaces and furnishings have been used. Generous storage in the utility ensures that there is a place for all cleaning items and more, with laundry facilities neatly fitted within furniture. Flooring, plumbing, electrics, and lighting have also been adjusted to reflect the new layout, with a step into the dining room from the kitchen also created. Our Kitchen Design & Installation Service Across these three rooms drastic changes have been made thanks to a visionary design from the clients and designer George, which with the help of our fitting team has been fantastically brought to life. This project perfectly encapsulates the complete installation service that we are able to offer, utilising kitchen fitting, plumbing, electrics, lighting, flooring and our internal building option to reshape the layout of this property. Our client wanted to merge their kitchen and utility spaces into one seamless open-plan area. The goal was to create a modern shaker kitchen that exudes sophistication and complements the beautiful natural surroundings of their Downs location. Emphasising a bright and airy atmosphere was a top priority, reflecting the spaciousness of the outdoor environment. For this project, we selected the Nolte Torino Lac in Sahara, beautifully accented with Tavloa Oak Pinot. The Manganese Bronze handles add a subtle yet striking detail to the overall design, complementing the neutral tones of the kitchen. To achieve the desired contrast and eye-catching appeal, we opted for the Sense Glacial Blue worksurface. Its stunning blend of aesthetics and functionality perfectly matches the modern shaker style. The 30mm thickness, along with an 80mm fully clad breakfast bar & 100mm upstands, provides a seamless and stylish finish. When it comes to appliances, we won’t settle for anything but the best. Throughout the space, we've incorporated high-quality Miele and Siemens appliances. These trusted brands ensure top-notch performance, durability and innovative features to enhance the overall cooking and kitchen experience. Our clients expressed the desire for a social hub within their kitchen space, with the peninsula becoming the perfect solution. With its functional design and seating options, the peninsula encourages lively conversations and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for family and guests. We take pride in bringing our clients' dreams to life and this modern shaker kitchen is testament to our commitment to creating spaces that inspire, captivate and enrich the heart of the home. For our latest project – a navy blue and oak kitchen - artistry meets practicality to ensure a contemporary space which offers true ‘wow factor’. Embracing the timeless appeal of Matt lacquer RAL 5004 Black Blue, seamlessly paired with the warmth of Syncroface Oak, this kitchen design features a Marbled White Quartz worktop. To bring balance to the space, we combined open and closed shelving, striking a perfect equilibrium between accessible display and discreet storage. The art of wine appreciation finds its ideal abode with bottle storage nestled thoughtfully beneath the cosy coffee nook. The cross-reeded glass cabinet door crowning the coffee nook shelf is a nod to classic elegance and modern style. Functionality and convenience merge seamlessly with the inclusion of the innovative Quooker tap, providing instant boiling water, when required. As our clients prepare their meals, the geometric backsplash adds a delightful visual accent. We cleverly incorporate a hidden sink for a clutter-free countertop, maintaining the kitchen's seamless aesthetic while ensuring the workspace stays neat and organised. The addition of wooden cabinet door handles further enhances the natural charm of this contemporary kitchen, creating a tactile and inviting environment for every cooking adventure. This latest project is a testament to our dedication to creating kitchens that lie at the intersection of form and function. Feeling inspired by our latest kitchen design? Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW The homeowners built their traditional Colonial style home 17 years’ ago. It was in great shape but needed some updating. Over the years, their taste had drifted into a more contemporary realm, and they wanted our help to bridge the gap between traditional and modern. We decided the layout of the kitchen worked well in the space and the cabinets were in good shape, so we opted to do a refresh with the kitchen. The original kitchen had blond maple cabinets and granite countertops. This was also a great opportunity to make some updates to the functionality that they were hoping to accomplish. After re-finishing all the first floor wood floors with a gray stain, which helped to remove some of the red tones from the red oak, we painted the cabinetry Benjamin Moore “Repose Gray” a very soft light gray. The new countertops are hardworking quartz, and the waterfall countertop to the left of the sink gives a bit of the contemporary flavor. We reworked the refrigerator wall to create more pantry storage and eliminated the double oven in favor of a single oven and a steam oven. The existing cooktop was replaced with a new range paired with a Venetian plaster hood above. The glossy finish from the hood is echoed in the pendant lights. A touch of gold in the lighting and hardware adds some contrast to the gray and white. A theme we repeated down to the smallest detail illustrated by the Jason Wu faucet by Brizo with its similar touches of white and gold (the arrival of which we eagerly awaited for months due to ripples in the supply chain – but worth it!). The original breakfast room was pleasant enough with its windows looking into the backyard. Now with its colorful window treatments, new blue chairs and sculptural light fixture, this space flows seamlessly into the kitchen and gives more of a punch to the space. The original butler’s pantry was functional but was also starting to show its age. The new space was inspired by a wallpaper selection that our client had set aside as a possibility for a future project. It worked perfectly with our pallet and gave a fun eclectic vibe to this functional space. We eliminated some upper cabinets in favor of open shelving and painted the cabinetry in a high gloss finish, added a beautiful quartzite countertop and some statement lighting. The new room is anything but cookie cutter. Next the mudroom. You can see a peek of the mudroom across the way from the butler’s pantry which got a facelift with new paint, tile floor, lighting and hardware. Simple updates but a dramatic change! The first floor powder room got the glam treatment with its own update of wainscoting, wallpaper, console sink, fixtures and artwork. A great little introduction to what’s to come in the rest of the home. The whole first floor now flows together in a cohesive pallet of green and blue, reflects the homeowner’s desire for a more modern aesthetic, and feels like a thoughtful and intentional evolution. Our clients were wonderful to work with! Their style meshed perfectly with our brand aesthetic which created the opportunity for wonderful things to happen. We know they will enjoy their remodel for many years to come! Photography by Margaret Rajic Photography

Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.

Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW This family from Wheaton was ready to remodel their kitchen, dining room and powder room. The project didn’t call for any structural or space planning changes but the makeover still had a massive impact on their home. The homeowners wanted to change their dated 1990’s brown speckled granite and light maple kitchen. They liked the welcoming feeling they got from the wood and warm tones in their current kitchen, but this style clashed with their vision of a deVOL type kitchen, a London-based furniture company. Their inspiration came from the country homes of the UK that mix the warmth of traditional detail with clean lines and modern updates. To create their vision, we started with all new framed cabinets with a modified overlay painted in beautiful, understated colors. Our clients were adamant about “no white cabinets.” Instead we used an oyster color for the perimeter and a custom color match to a specific shade of green chosen by the homeowner. The use of a simple color pallet reduces the visual noise and allows the space to feel open and welcoming. We also painted the trim above the cabinets the same color to make the cabinets look taller. The room trim was painted a bright clean white to match the ceiling. In true English fashion our clients are not coffee drinkers, but they LOVE tea. We created a tea station for them where they can prepare and serve tea. We added plenty of glass to showcase their tea mugs and adapted the cabinetry below to accommodate storage for their tea items. Function is also key for the English kitchen and the homeowners. They requested a deep farmhouse sink and a cabinet devoted to their heavy mixer because they bake a lot. We then got rid of the stovetop on the island and wall oven and replaced both of them with a range located against the far wall. This gives them plenty of space on the island to roll out dough and prepare any number of baked goods. We then removed the bifold pantry doors and created custom built-ins with plenty of usable storage for all their cooking and baking needs. The client wanted a big change to the dining room but still wanted to use their own furniture and rug. We installed a toile-like wallpaper on the top half of the room and supported it with white wainscot paneling. We also changed out the light fixture, showing us once again that small changes can have a big impact. As the final touch, we also re-did the powder room to be in line with the rest of the first floor. We had the new vanity painted in the same oyster color as the kitchen cabinets and then covered the walls in a whimsical patterned wallpaper. Although the homeowners like subtle neutral colors they were willing to go a bit bold in the powder room for something unexpected. For more design inspiration go to: www.kitchenstudio-ge.com
