Located in the heart of Downtown Dallas this once Interurban Transit station for the DFW area no serves as an urban dwelling. The historic building is filled with character and individuality which was a need for the interior design with decoration and furniture. Mid-century modern home completely renovated in the entryway, kitchen and living room; the natural ledge stone fireplace and entry finish the space with a genuinely dated appeal.

A modern take on mid-century style was created with a slimline linen sofa with chaise, a marble and brass coffee table, contemporary geometric cushions in teals, aquas and greens which picked up beautifully on the ink wash artwork and the glass and brass accessories.

This home was created for a sweet family that escaped a domestic violence situation and became homeless. She is a single, working mother of two little girls ages 3 and 5 years old. When I met them they had just gotten their apartment and were living in it with literally nothing, no beds, no furniture, not even dishes. They lived that way for over two months while I pulled together donations from everyone I knew working with @penandnapking.org. We couldn't have done it without the most generous donations from @polyandbark, @lampsplus and @thepaintlab, plus all of the amazing volunteers.

The new family room was created by demolishing several small utility rooms and a small "maid's room" to open the kitchen up to the rear garden and pool area. The door to the new powder room is visible in the rear. The powder room features a small planter and "entry foyer" to obscure views of the more private areas from the family room and kitchen. This project was a full-gut renovation on a Upper East Side Apartment combination. glass cabinets, open kitchen, herringbone natural walnut hardwood flooring, teal wall paint, built in cabinets at window, recessed lighting above window, recessed wall speakers

Renovation of existing family room, custom built-in cabinetry for TV, drop down movie screen and books. A new articulated ceiling along with wall panels, a bench and other storage was designed as well.

A bright sitting area in Mid-century inspired remodel. The 2 armchairs covered in grey and white patterned fabric create a striking focal point against the green grasscloth covered walls. An oversized terracotta planter holds natural branches for decoration. The large standing light with white circular lamp shade brings soft light to the area at nights while slatted wooden blinds keep the direct sunlight at bay during the day.

Lovely calming pallete of soft olive green, light navy blue and a powdery pink sharpened with black furniture and brass accents gives this small but perfectly formed living room a boutique drawing room vibe. Luxurious but practical for family use.
