Vine house and Peach house at Florence Court

We worked with Florence Court, Northern Ireland, on the restoration of the Kitchen Garden back to its former 1930’s glory. Part of the journey was to replace two existing structures, so we designed a Vine house and a Peach house. The Vine house is used as a community space for events as well as growing tomatoes, aubergines and two lemon trees. The Peach house is used for propagation as well as housing peaches, apricots and nectarines.

The traditional Victorian aesthetic of our National Trust Collection sits beautifully along from the orangery at the rear of our clients Cape Cod style home. Wood Sage in colour, the greenhouse is used as a space for growing, as well as a creative outlet to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our client enjoys exploring hobbies like floristry, flower arranging and styling as a mindfulness practice.

This greenhouse is located in Desolation Sound, British Columbia. Sonora Resort is one of Canada's best eco-adventure travel destinations and was voted a top resort in several categories. The conservatory is often used as a high style wedding destination.

Our client had a desire to reinstate and recreate the unique wooden glasshouse that they were lucky enough to have in the grounds of their home, which they moved into around 20 years ago. Our client decided to replace the structure in aluminium, as it is far more durable than wood, with very little maintenance. The glasshouse no longer houses plants, but instead is available to hire for events and photoshoots. It is attached at the rear to the original wall which separates but also joins it to the original potting sheds and boiler house brickwork complex at the back, now restored and developed into beautifully furnished accommodation.

Tropical Tatton Greenhouse

Our clients purchased their fourth Alitex greenhouse, this time a Hidcote, for their garden designed by Chelsea Flower Show favourite Darren Hawkes. Powder coated in Sussex Emerald’, the Hidcote sits perfectly in this beautiful valley, just a handful of miles from the Atlantic Coast. The kitchen garden was designed around the Hidcote greenhouse, which included raised borders, built in the same heritage bricks as the base of the greenhouse.

California Orchid Estate Greenhouse

Our client chose Alitex because she felt we were the best, not only in terms of aesthetic but in the quality of the materials, the build and in our attention to detail, culminating in the perfect growing environment. Her greenhouse creates the perfect growing environment for tropical plants. Our external greenhouse shades prevent her plants from being scorched in the height of summer, and a heating system installed for the winter keeps the temperature steady.

Our client enjoys the traditional Victorian Greenhouse aesthetic. In search for low maintenance, aluminium was the firm choice. Powder coated in Sussex Emerald to compliment the window frames, the three quarter span lean-to greenhouse sits beautifully in the garden of a new eco-home.
