A “slouch couch” in every sense of the term, the Walcott Sofa’s unique frame is comprehensively cushioned for all-encompassing comfort. Eight-way hand-tied suspension ensures a quality seat wherever you settle, whether perched on the sofa’s arms, back or seat. Warm caramel-colored 100% top grain leather is stitched with flanged seams along the edges, helping to balance its voluminous appearance. And when you have a piece as distinct as this, it’s only fitting to accessorize with other conversation-starting accents.

With the advice of my interior designer friend Nelly Reffet of Twinkle and Whistle, I turned this space into a much nicer and more organised room to work. One of the first things Nelly advised me to do was paint the Antique White walls Vivid White and change the cedar blinds for linen curtains. I could not believe the difference this made in making the room seem brighter and lighter. As I was on a very tight budget for this room, Nelly suggested utilising a piece of furniture I already had in the house - the IKEA Expedit - for storage. Having one large piece of furniture for storage rather than several smaller ones has freed up the space enormously. It also provides loads of storage with its deep shelves. The containers in it are all thrifted, found on the side of the road or from secondhand markets. I used a mix of cane baskets, wooden boxes and an unused draw to hide more unsightly odds and ends and make it overall look much more neat and tidy. I Spy's mission, we gladly chose to accept was to create a space for sleeping, lounging, entertaining, an office & overnight guests in one small rented room. In short, a cohesive, yet compartmentalized place to live, work, play. Client contacted Staged to Sell or Dwell to revamp lower level den. With minimal lighting, the space felt dark and drab, the client requested that it be updated and that it take on a more cohesive, masculine style. Reframing nearly 100 of the client’s memorable photos and hanging in a gallery-style setting was a notable part of this project.
