Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.

Nobilia Kitchen in Angmering, West Sussex This kitchen design and installation is a recently rephotographed project that took place in Angmering, West Sussex. The design of this kitchen has been optimised to suit its location within the house and importantly the customer’s brief, which was to create a space that was social, spacious, homely and a sweeping link between the centre of the home and the garden. An impressive addition to this kitchen is the beautiful copper accents which represent a growing trend in kitchen design at the moment. Thanks to a number of impressive kitchen copper additions this theme is cleverly combined within kitchen appliances and design features. Kitchen Furniture The kitchen furniture used for this project is from one of our German supplier Nobilia’s most premium ranges: Lux. The Lux range is aptly named. Its composition utilises a quality lacquer which creates a flawless high-gloss finish and is extremely durable when usual kitchen use is inflicted. The gloss effect Lux range was chosen to reflect the client’s wish of a light kitchen space, with the gloss door fronts bouncing light around the room to create shimmering kitchen space. The two colour choices Satin Grey and Slate Grey combine perfectly with the use of copper accents, bringing balance to the space. A key feature of this kitchen space is the media area which has been highlighted and surrounded by luxurious glazed glass units and deep pan drawers for storage, which themselves have been upgraded throughout the kitchen to glass sided uprights for extra strength and style. Kitchen Appliances Along with kitchen furniture and cabinetry, careful selection of kitchen appliances were chosen for this kitchen not just to match the overall style but to match the necessary daily uses of the customer. The large bank of tall units houses not only cooking appliances, but integrated refrigeration and freezing appliances integrated seamlessly into the furniture. This bank features three ovens from cooking enthusiast inspired manufacturer Neff, in the form of two Slide&Hide single ovens and a Slide&Hide combination microwave oven. The fourth appliance in this appliance grid is a wine cabinet from manufacturer CDA which enables the powerful cooling of up to twenty-four Bordeaux wine bottles. On the longest run of units in this kitchen a Siemens IQ700 induction hob features in the unique stainless-steel finish, which is not only a stylish and in keeping appliance, it offers several innovative features like intuitive touchSlider operation, flexible induction zone cooking and fryingSensor technology. The most stylish appliance in this kitchen however, is undoubtedly the beautiful Elica Dolce cooker hood, which not only harnesses powerful extraction of cooking fumes but continues the classy copper theme further throughout this kitchen. Kitchen Features & Accessories To meet the brief of the customer this kitchen had to be functional, meaning clever storage solutions are included throughout this kitchen. An example of this is the pull-out Dispensa storage from Kesseböhmer which feature either side of the main bank of appliances and enable a small amount of space to harbour useful storage capacity. A Quooker flex boiling tap is used above a Blanco undermounted Silgranite sink which makes a safe boiling water supply accessible from the same faucet as usual cold and warm water. As part of the installation of this project our electrical team have installed copper pendant lighting centrally above the island, increasing the ability for this kitchen to work as a social space with touch flip plug sockets used in several places for easy access to power. Our Gas Safe registered team have also installed a full-height radiator which is shown in a contemporary grey shade matching the kitchen colour scheme. Nobilia Kitchen in Angmering, West Sussex This kitchen boasts so many desirable kitchen features in one space, with the design making the most of every inch of space to fit the initial brief of the customer. In Summer days the kitchen flows out to the large garden through expansive bi-fold doors which show the full beauty of this kitchen design and installation. Bespoke kitchen with a double island in the middle of the space. The island offers large drawers for storage on one side and breakfast area on the other, with smaller storage behind it. Left side of the kitchen has a large hob with ceiling integrated extractor fan, as well as integrated fridge and oven. The opposite side has sink and tap in black finish to complement the hob, as well as integrated dishwasher, and plenty of storage. Design solution for the floor is a large scale 60x60cm tiles to match the scale of this kitchen.

En esta cocina, simplemente completamos con elementos decorativos como asientos, textiles e iluminacion, pero su integración con el salon, se hizo notar para el diseño del espacio contiguo. Compuesta por una isla central de trabajo con una mesa baja, y las zonas de almacenaje de manera perimetral con colores potentes que hacen de esta una vista moderna y actual que conecta con el diseño de carpintería metálica del cierre. Así mismo, las soluciones que aporto la constructora como la de dejar vistos los montantes de calefacción lacándolos en cobre, diseñan así un punto industrial con el que no restamos espacio ni visión.

APARTMENT BERLIN VII Eine Berliner Altbauwohnung im vollkommen neuen Gewand: Bei diesen Räumen in Schöneberg zeichnete THE INNER HOUSE für eine komplette Sanierung verantwortlich. Dazu gehörte auch, den Grundriss zu ändern: Die Küche hat ihren Platz nun als Ort für Gemeinsamkeit im ehemaligen Berliner Zimmer. Dafür gibt es ein ruhiges Schlafzimmer in den hinteren Räumen. Das Gästezimmer verfügt jetzt zudem über ein eigenes Gästebad im britischen Stil. Bei der Sanierung achtete THE INNER HOUSE darauf, stilvolle und originale Details wie Doppelkastenfenster, Türen und Beschläge sowie das Parkett zu erhalten und aufzuarbeiten. Darüber hinaus bringt ein stimmiges Farbkonzept die bereits vorhandenen Vintagestücke nun angemessen zum Strahlen. As part of a refurbishment of their 1930’s house, our clients wanted a bright, elegant contemporary kitchen to sit comfortably in a new modern rear extension. Older rooms in the property were also knocked through to create a large family room with living and dining areas and an entertaining space that includes a subterranean wine cellar and a bespoke cocktail cabinet. The slab-style soft-close kitchen door fronts are finished in matt lacquer in Alpine White for tall cabinetry, and Dust Grey for door and deep drawer fronts in the three-metre island, all with matching-coloured carcases. We designed the island to feature a recessed mirrored plinth and with LED strip lights at the base to provide a floating effect to the island when illuminated at night. To combine the two cabinetry colours, the extra-long worktop is comprised of two pieces of bookmatched 20mm thick Dekton, a proprietary blend of natural quartz stone, porcelain and glass in Aura, a white surface with a feint grey vein running through it. The surface of the island is split into two zones for food preparation and cooking. On the prep side is a one and half sized undermount sink and from the 1810 Company, together with an InSinkerator waste disposal unit and a Quooker Flex 3-in1 Boiling Water Tap. Installed within the island is a 60cm integrated dishwasher by Miele. On the cooking side is a flush-mounted 90cm Novy Panorama vented downdraft induction hob, which features a ventilation tower within the surface of the hob that rises up to 30cm to extract grease and cooking vapours at source, directly next to the pans. When cooking has ended, the tower retracts back into the surface to be completely concealed. Within the run of tall cabinetry are storage cupboards, plus and integrated larder fridge and tall freezer, both by Siemens. Housed at the centre is a bank of ovens, all by Neff. These comprise two 60cm Slide&Hide pyrolytic ovens, one beneath 45cm a CircoTherm Steam Oven and the other beneath a 45cm Combination Microwave. At the end of the run is a large breakfast cupboard with pocket doors that open fully to reveal interior shelving with LED lighting and a stylish grey mirror back panel. A further freestanding cocktail bar was designed for the open plan living space.
