Please contact us for your future design project!* YU+ME Design is a full-service boutique interior design studio based in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. At YU+ME Design, we specialize in mid- to high-end residential interior design and decorating services for single-family homes and condominiums. Our principal designer, Yumi Murayama, grew up in Japan and is inspired by the simplistic, natural essence founded in minimalist architecture and design. Yumi pursued her true passion for design by attending the Interior Design program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and earned her Certificate in Interior Design in 2013. Over the next 5 years, Yumi honed her design and decorating skills while working at a global Danish company in a senior designer/stylist role. Working closely with her clients on design projects inspired Yumi to create her own design company. In 2018 YU+ME Design was born, enabling Yumi to continue providing “WOW” interiors to her clients. Yumi is also an interior design ambassador for Casaza.ca, founded by Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott, and an interior design contributor for Canadian Home Trend Magazine.

My partner and I are busy people and although we can recognize style we have no ability to select lighting, furniture or design aesthetics for our living room and den. Yumi, a joy to work with, provided professional communication and on point design ideas throughout our experience. We are more than happy with the new look and feel of our new rooms! I had Yumi work on four rooms in my house and she did a fabulous job. She was extremely professional and the end project exceeded my expectations. YU+ME came highly recommended by Allen Hemmelgarn and Alex MacWilliam at Inspired Renovations LTD, whom we have been using for decades now due to their high-quality custom work. It didn't take us long to discover why she was their chosen interior designer. Yumi is friendly, polite, and knows her stuff! She spoke with us to get our requirements, wishes, thoughts, and pie-in-the-sky wild ideas. Soon thereafter, having coordinated efforts with Inspired Renovations, she visited us with her design proposals and sample materials. The design went far above and beyond what we could have imagined ourselves. It was clean, functional, striking, and just simply beautiful. After construction, we threw a "just drop by for hors d'oeuvres" gathering so our friends and neighbours could see the results. Jaws dropped. Our new kitchen blended perfectly with the rest of our open-concept condo, while still catching the eye with subtlety arresting features. We were not surprised when several attendees wanted Yumi's business card.

We hired Yumi to help us decorate our brand new condo. Her cheerful, fun, hip personality along with her professionalism drew us to her immediately. We told her the vibe that we wanted to create along with the colours we liked and gave her free reign to select decor for us... being mindful that we have a dog who loves to sit and sleep with us. Her choices were spot on. Our place is stunning! We love her design ideas and have already recommended her to other owners in our building.

Yumi was recommended to us via friends. At first I thought we could do the renovations by ourselves, but when the project hit a snag we called Yumi. She was able to get all the contractors back on the same page and have them move forward. We had several design changes as the job evolved, Yumi was able to adjust on the fly and keep us on budget. Over all the best thing we did was hire Yumi to get the job done. It took the stress off of us , and next time we renovate Yumi will be the first phone call we will make.
