Our History Founded in historic Salem, Massachusetts by Henry A Waters and J Clarke Brown in the closing years of the 19th century, Waters & Brown served the seaport as a major source of building supplies, paints, and hardware. In 1969, brothers Donald and Edward Clarke purchased the business with the mission to provide the finest paint and decorating products in New England. In the years since, Waters & Brown has continued to grow and has been recognized nationwide for their unique products and professional guidance. Today, Waters & Brown is owned and operated by Donald Clarke’s sons, Shaun and Tim Clarke, who joke they have worked at the store since they could walk.
