Katia Goffin Gardens

Katia is nothing short of a visionary. She took our tiny yard- which I thought was irredeemable- and designed a harmonious plan for the landscape, hardscapes, and lighting. We asked her to execute the full plan, using her recommended contractors, and the finished product is an absolute showstopper. Our house has a lot of traditional elements, but Katia envisioned a more modern aesthetic for the landscaping, with just the right amount of whimsy. We love the clean lines, the mix of plants, and the slight asymmetry of the overall design, all of which complement our house and our lot. I can finally say that the outside of our home is a true reflection of ourselves and our preferred aesthetic. Driving up to our home, sitting on our front porch, or just gazing out the window to our yard is an absolute pleasure. Don’t believe me, believe all of the people who stop to talk, or leave notes on my porch, or who even pose for photos in front of my house. They all want to know the same thing: who designed your yard? In fact, if you are an introvert, do not hire Katia, because EVERYONE will want to know who is responsible for your stunning property! Our curb appeal is 100, and we are repeat clients!!! She’s also a lovely person.

I was hoping to be another satisfied customer but found Katia to be unprofessional. The lack of responsiveness was disappointing.

Katia turned our yard, (which was nice, but not a “wow”) into a magnificent garden! Not only did she design the garden, worked on fixing drainage, and picked all the plants, but she also advised us on the color of the house and made changes on our portico and walkway! We finished the garden the fall before Covid hit, and the outdoor space she created for us couldn’t have been more appreciated and used! So many of our neighbors stopped by to say a socially distant hello, and enjoyed walking around the garden.

We had a garden problem: our older mother, with her declining mobility, could no longer enjoy her garden. She had so many problems entering her garden and balancing on the messy terrain...she gave up. This was a big deal because she had gardened all her life and the absence of her gardening became depressing for her. For over 2 years she was missing the joy of her garden.The family decided we needed to try to fix this even if mom only had a few more years left. Time to get her back in her garden. Enter Katia Goffen Gardens!! Katia went to work fast because she takes care of her parents and she understood the importance of this project. She met us on site (with her construction team) drew up plans to make the garden accessible and easy to maintain. Although it was a small size garden area it was not a small or easy job. Katia produced a plan that made everyone happy. The construction of the new garden went according to plan: on schedule and budget, no surprises. When it was finished the garden had a beautiful patio for my mom to sit on...with a smooth brick entrance and perfect wide gate for her to enter the completely level garden. It amazes me how a professional can imagine a space with a completely different layout. Katia moved everything around in such a different way that it is perfect for mom now. The old garden was becoming a nightmare for her, the new garden is easy, beautiful and peaceful. Mom can do as much or little as she wants and its a joy just to sit and enjoy the new view! Last but not least, Katia and her team were a joy to work with. There was not one shovel of dirt, piece of lumber, metal pole or brick that we didn't enjoy... watching as all of it transformed Moms garden! Imagine being sad when the team leaves. Thank you Katia Goffen and also to Jopal Construction. You made a huge difference in the lives of so many people. We will all have many more incredible seasons in our lives thanks to you. And yes mom is thrilled and talks about it everyday to everyone! Best Mothers Day present ever!

Katia Goffin is a skillful designer with a wonderful creative eye. I lost a large tree in my front yard and there were several other challenges around the sides and back yard of my house. At our first meeting, Katia quickly assessed my yard and immediately proposed solutions. Implementing Katia’s design went very smoothly. Now I am grateful every morning as I enjoy my beautiful views!

Katia Goffin was excellent at executing a design and plan to fit my needs and vision. She has a very disciplined yet imaginative eye and a wealth of knowledge about plants and gardens. The people on her team that execute and install her designs were very good, on time and always professional and considerate. Katia is also a delight to work with. Excellent landscape artist with an eye for detail and space. In our city "backyard' consisting of a 8x15 deck, Katia transformed a poorly designed deck into a classic, beautifully proportioned wooden deck with more space than there was originally. How she that, we have no idea. In the front 'yard' Katia took a multi level, "busy to the eye" area and simplified it to a pleasing, quiet, attractive space of which we are now proud to claim and maintain. And to top it all off, she's lovely to work with.

Katia provided us with a wonderful experience. From the first consultation and throughout the process she was so professional and always there. She was available to answer questions and stop by to see how the project was coming along.

Katia turned a plain back yard with a basketball court into a remarkable Belgian garden. She is extremely creative and easy to work with. The quality of her contractors and the quality of the specimens she planted were excellent. She was attentive to detail and hands on. Katia has returned several times to ensure everything is growing to plan. The project was completed on time and on budget. It was a great experience for my wife and I.
