Jennifer Coles Color and Design

I had a superb experience working with Jennifer Coles Color and Design on a condo renovation north of Boston. Her approach is both creative and practical and resulted in beautiful and functional spaces within my budget. For example, she made a tiny kitchen feel much bigger by maximizing storage space, choosing the right size appliances, and by having a great eye for materials, colors, and lighting. She is experienced at working with contractors to ensure quality control. She made my project easier for me by being organized, efficient and responses. I highly recommend her!

I reached out to Jennifer with my project because I wanted someone who would be easy and fun to work with. I got that and more. Professional, creative, timely and caring, she's the whole package. Jen has guided me through the design process with ease. Letting me take on the areas of the project I wanted to, but never letting me lose pace. Truly a gem to work with.

Jennifer transformed my “classic” 1970s garrison colonial house into my dream modern, coastal home. The extensive renovation involved complete redesign of an expanded kitchen and first floor bath, a redesigned guest bath, a new en suite master bath and walk-in master closet, and redesigned open concept dining and living room. It meant she had to have a strong understanding of how I live and what my hopes for the final product were - as well as being able to look at the current space and envision changes that would deliver on the essence of my vision of a peaceful home with a touch of drama. Jennifer delivered magnificently! The final product exceeded all my expectations and continues to do so. She is amazingly creative and flexible thinker and has a wonderful eye. I love her passion and excitement for what she does - and her ability to come up with original ideas, not cookie-cutter designs. Jennifer has great ability to communicate, listen, and deliver results. She never failed to respond to a text, email or phone call incredibly promptly. Working with her is a positive one-on-one experience, her ability to keep focused on the details, the schedule, and the budget made her a delight to work with. When we had a two-story addition added to our home, hiring Jen was invaluable in the process. She offered solutions re built-ins, solving issues like how to lay out a mudroom for 4 active kids and 2 dogs. She chose paint colors and finishes that reflected our style, and helped us use existing furniture pieces in the new space. This enabled the job to be completed on time and in budget. We were very happy with the result!

Jennifer has completed several projects, both large and small, over the past few years for us and she has been a pleasure to work with. Jennifer is able to understand what you're looking for, add great design ideas, generate drawings and other visuals to review and get your project completed. She's helped us through a large addition to a 1900 home which included a kitchen reconfiguration with custom cabinetry, office, mudroom, bedroom, living room and bathroom built-ins, consults on fixture and tile selection and a paint color plan for the entire house. We would not be nearly as happy with our addition if it wasn't for Jennifer's advice and support through this project. She also helped us stage a house for sale, including paint, decor and a kitchen spruce up.

Our house has original dark wood trim, so it is always a challenge to find the right wall colors. Jen has advised us on color choices for many of our rooms and we have loved all of them. She understands what her client is looking for, provides a variety of choices given the variables of each room, and is efficient with her time. We would highly recommend Jen for any home design project!

Jennifer is an exceptional interior designer, creating floor plans and project details that are easy to follow. We moved into a 100 year old home and Jennifer created an excellent layout and flow. She was able to incorporate the constraints that an old building presents. We had no idea of how or where to start but Jennifer made it easy for us. We are very happy with the results and we get positive comments all the time. We highly recommend Jennifer.

I worked with Jen on 2 projects. In both cases we increased the value of our properties by following her recommendations. Jen is very good at determining if the cost an improvement or upgrade exceeds the resale value added. This is the key to her services and makes investing in her services a net gain.

I've used Jennifer for a few different projects over the years. She is great to work with, efficient with her time, and makes everything easy to picture with the 3-D drawings. She makes confusing projects seem simple with her step-by-step guidance. I would highly recommend using her for home renovations and for paint colors. She does amazing staging work as well.
