Harbourside Custom Homes

We have been owners of a Harbourside Custom Home for 3 years. Since building with Harbourside in 2014 were were very impressed with both the quality of the workmanship and the quality of the people that make the company. Our build went very smoothly with no serious issues and no delays. When small errors did arise--often times identified by Harbourside themselves they were response and attentive in taking the necessary remedial action to the satisfaction of the customer. For any issue no matter how small they were honest--almost to a fault--rather than counting on the customer not noticing. So we have been Harbourside fans for a few years recommending them to our friends and acquaintances of neighbors who are looking to build in the Fort Myers area. If you speak to any Harbouside customer you will without exception find the same satisfaction. The integrity and superb business practices were recently demonstrated when our homewatch discovered a roof leak 1 week before the onset of Hurricane Irma. You cannot imagine the fear when your home is in the line of a CAT 4 hurricane and has been rendered vulnerable by a roof leak. Being in Canada for the summer, we called Jerry Coulton, president of Harbourside Custom Homes. Jerry indicated that although it was strictly not covered outside the warrentee period the leak was very unusual to occurr within 3 years. Jerry immediately dispatched a crew to check the house. With the short lead time there was not much that could be done before the hurricane. The team shielded the area to protect against the wind and water to minimize any further damage. After the hurricane with all the devastation going on in the Fort Myers, Jerry had a crew on site to fix the issue. They replaced the banding on roof and fixed all of the damage to the interior dry wall. His team was on site over a period of a week to affect the necessary repairs. The problem was repaired to the same high quality that is the Harbourside trademark--absolutely to perfection. To have an organization go to those lengths in the midst of all of the destruction left in the wake of the hurricane, speaks volumes about how they do business and the extent to which they stand behind the product that they build. With Harbourside you will learn that its about the integrity and serving the customer first---not just the money. All of the Harbourside customers that we know in our community, and elsewhere feel exactly the same way and several have similar examples on how Harbourside helped years after a build when the company was under no obligation to do so. The home that they built for us earned our highest praises and admiration---the home that they protected for us earned our greatest respect. I have worked with many builders and contractors --I have yet to find a company like Harbourside. A company like Harbourside does not need alot of fancy commercials--their customers are their commercials. You should be enormously proud Jerry of the company that you built!

It was a pleasure working with harbourside. everyone was extremely profes sional and helpfull. Frank, linda ,shannon,chris, mark and angie did a wonderful job for us. they were never too busy, returned calls immediatly and always met deadlines and appointments. I had a problem finding a dimmer switch for a special light fixture. Chris came to the rescue. he ordered the switch and had it installed for me at no charge.Icant say enough about our foreman Gene. he was amazing.he stayed on top of everything and always took care of any minor issues. I would not hesitate recommending harbourside and would use them in the future.

Working with Harbourside Custom Homes was a delight. Everyone, and I mean everyone from the owner to the people in the field, wanted us to be happy with their services. We interviewed 3-4 other builders and no one even came close to their professionalism and attitude. They met deadlines and were very open about costs. There were no hidden "surprises". Quite simply, they made our house a lovely home.

Harbourside Custom Homes recently built our new home and we could not be happier with the house or the entire process that we went through with Harbourside from design through construction. Everyone we dealt with at Harbourside was very professional and very customer focused – wanting to be sure that we were happy with the end product of our home and that it was delivered in the time frame they committed. The process and the customer focus started with the owners. Both Jerry Colton and Frank Jenkins were involved in our initial meetings and selection of the right floor plan for us. We spent time meeting with both of them and going through several of their models with them so we understood their construction methods and so there was complete clarity on what was included in the base price, what was an option, etc. Throughout the entire build process, the owners were available and involved. But it takes more than owners to get a house built on schedule and with high quality. It takes a whole team – and Harbourside has a great team, including their subcontractors and material suppliers. The people in the “back-office” at Harbourside were very helpful throughout the entire process, especially with all of the selections that have to be made for a new home – pricing, ordering and ensuring delivery at the right time. They provided good insight based on their prior experience. The construction superintendent was outstanding and cared for our home like he was building his own home. His attention to detail was excellent and he did a great job scheduling, coordinating and overseeing all the subcontractors involved in the construction. If we ever build another home in SW FL, we would definitely use Harbourside Custom Homes again.
