I used JP McCurdy to install recessed lights in my living room. The ceiling was sloped and very high and Shazeeb and Nico did a great job. They also installed overhead lights in bedrooms and put in a 240-volt outlet for a washer/dryer room. They communicated with me about my preferences throughout the job. Their work was professional and clean. They also patched the holes they made, which some electricians wouldn’t do.

We highly recommend J.P. McCurdy Electrical Services. We hired this exceptional shop to replace all the old knob and tube wiring (along with switching out a number of light fixtures and installing several ceiling fans) in our 120-year-old Victorian home – a challenging job that a couple of other electricians didn’t feel confident undertaking. Owner Jack McCurdy personally came to size up the job and give us a detailed estimate, and his professionalism, courtesy and extensive knowledge sold us. What was originally thought to be a two-week job was finished in six working days as foreman Joe Costain efficiently deployed his crew and brought in a second crew on a few days to expedite the work. Joe was great at communicating what kind of activity we could expect day-to-day, especially as both my wife and I are working from home fulltime during the COVID pandemic. He and the crew checked in frequently on our preferences, minimized the number of holes in the ceilings and walls (including avoiding harming our wallpaper in a couple of rooms altogether), and cleaned up well at the end of every day. Jack’s estimate was competitive and the final accounting accurately included the additions and subtractions we agreed to during the job. We feel so much better that we’ve finally eliminated the risky knob and tube wiring and updated the entire house’s electrical system. McCurdy is a full-service shop that does all kinds of electrical work – if you want a trustworthy and capable electrician, give Jack a call!

Good Morning, I want to say Jose ,JR , Bill did a outstanding job removing all the knob And tube old wiring at 12 Maverick and replaced it with new wiring. They did not make any holes which amazes me. They left the house nice an clean. Great job l would rate the job 1 - 10 I would rate it 12 plus !!!!!! Thank you Ken

There is one question I always ask myself about employing other tradesmen, "would I employ their services again?" With McCurdy electrical its a resounding YES! Jack, the owner was very responsive in returning my calls and also with his initial site visit to give an estimate for a Three Family Multi-panel Service Upgrade. He was very professional and patient in explaining what was required, and with the steps that needed to be achieved in order to complete the job! The excellent advice he gave personifies his vast experience in the field. My job involved a lot of tedious circuit identification in a house that had not been updated in this century. It also had exterior fixtures to be updated along with common area upgrades. His experience and advice was priceless in finding cost-efficient ways to bring everything up to code. kudos! He dealt with all the back-end permit pulling and the Utility communications which relived me of the stress of dealing with those organizations. Jack, kept an open dialogue with me concerning the project and was always checking in about how his employees were doing on site. On this point, his employees were very respectful and responsive and worked tirelessly to get the job done. Their work ethic is second to none and it reflects the the ethos of the McCurdy company. In short, The McCurdy company came in on budget, completed the scope of work detailed in the itemized estimate and delivered on time. J.P. McCurdy has proven to be responsive, attentive, skillful & reasonably priced. I would recommend them highly to any homeowner or business looking for skilled electricians.

I called this company for two things: switching a tv plug in my room and give me an estimate to fix the problem I was having with the air conditioning tripping the electrical panel. After looking at the plug, the electrician described what he would have to do to move it: remove all baseboards. We decided not to go with it. As far as the problem I had with the air conditioning, he tested the circuit and told me after a while that everything was fine! so he did not give me an estimate. The next morning I received a bill for $260 for two hours of work when he only stayed 1.5 hours for what I was expected was an estimate... The company agreed to reduce the bill to $130. BE AWARE, an estimate is billed and the problem was not fixed!!

J.P. McCurdy was hired to update the life safety system in a condo building in Boston, including new emergency lighting and exit signs. They were extremely professional, courteous and responsive throughout the project, despite the difficulty of working in such a building in the city. Our client was very happy with McCurdy's service, as was I, and they have now been hired for additional projects. I will definitely recommend them for future clients, as well!
