We recently completed furnishing a new mountain home with Stratton Design Group. Doug and his team are first-rate in every way. They are true professionals; client-centric, professional, and with an acute sense of timing and urgency (rare qualities these days). They guided us every step of the way, from design, to ordering furniture for an entire home during the pandemic, to delivery and setup. We moved in three hours after they left, and most everything had arrived and was placed, and what wasn't yet in they handled subsequently. It is an investment you will be glad you made if you plan to live in the home for a while. I imagine it would be difficult to do this level of work on your own in the circumstances of today's marketplace and have it turn out nearly as well. We would never have achieved the cohesive look and feel that we desired without their guidance and assistance. Highly recommend!

Doug and his team presented several creative options for our historic home's large kitchen, bar, sitting room and mudroom remodel. They were extremely detail oriented, responsive and engaged. The end result was exactly what we wanted - an updated look that at the same time emphasizes the heritage of our home. His design encompassed everything from windows, floors and lighting to custom made furniture. Doug is very easy to work with as well.

I am grateful beyond words for Doug and his team; I recommend him without hesitation. Hiring this group was like hitting the Easy button, which was an incredible bonus to me since I live 5 hours away from the property they designed. Doug took the time to understand my end goal, which is to prepare the house for the short-term rental market. Based on that, he not only chose a gorgeous style for the interior decorating but also created structural design elements for the entire house, from adding arches to creating an extra bedroom to turning unattractive ceilings into beautiful ones. He worked closely with our general contractor, arranged all furniture move-in and setup, and offered to decorate/accessorize down to the very smallest detail (which I gladly accepted, and it was all perfection!). Doug literally gave our house the Wow Factor, because every single person who has walked into the home for the first time has said "wow."

Looking for a fabulous designer with great style and attention to detail? You’ve found him! Doug helped us design every aspect of our custom home and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. He did everything from initial concept designs, detailed elevations, space planning, renderings, electrical, lighting and floor plans. He worked closely with our builder and during construction performed on-site detailed walk throughs to ensure there were no changes and address any issues guiding us along the way. Doug has an amazing eye for detail and adds many touches to make your home special. He is a master at lighting and knows how to highlight key focus areas. He has great ideas, shares his thoughts and opinions but is always willing to make adjustments to ensure you are happy with the outcome. He provided quick turnaround on changes often working late at night or over the weekend. Doug’s design team also helped us with tile, countertop, paint and lighting. They found truly beautiful selections and were mindful of budget considerations. We highly recommend Stratton Design for any and all aspects of your project.

We contacted Doug to embellish the lighting scheme in our 100 year old living room. From the first time we met with him, we were impressed with his sense of spacial proportion and knowledge in expert lighting solutions. Doug is quick to respond and makes himself very available when the need arises. He totally accomplished what we were looking for in our living room space.

Highly recommend the Stratton Design Team - I worked with Doug, Amanda, and Sarah and they are fun, professional, and dedicated with an exquisite design sense. And Doug is hilarious (bonus). Structurally, they took an awkwardly laid-out condo in downtown Asheville and designed a floor plan that is functional and beautiful. They selected gorgeous options for finishes, including teal mosaic glass tile for the bathrooms; stunning wall coverings for three accent walls in the condo; and eye-catching beveled subway tile for the kitchen backsplash. They presented unifying color schemes throughout the condo with the finishes, fixtures, and furniture. They take ownership of problems (in their domain) and were very helpful in pointing out errors of the contractor/subcontractors from the lack of supports under a quarter countertop overhang, kitchen cabinet doors hung incorrectly, and tile work sloppily executed in the bathrooms. These issues became part of the punch list and were not necessarily items I would have identified. They were very observant of my budget and recommended less-expensive options along the way that still kept with the sophisticated, serene vibe of the design. Lighting -- very detailed and great at creating the right kind of lighting to make the condo and our art pieces glow. Furniture -- except for one (one nightstand), I chose every option they presented which included, couch, TV consoles, counter stools, bed frames, dressers, nightstands, lamps, and rug. I continue to work with them to finish out the condo and would work with them, in a heartbeat, in the future.

We have worked with the Stratton Design Group on a number of different projects they have spearheaded. They were able to articulate their client's desires and needs better than many of the designers we have worked with on both residential and commercial projects. This allowed for us to get them what they needed when they needed it. In regards to the quality of their work, their designs are gorgeous and unique. Most importantly, Doug is a delight to work with and incredibly professional.

Doug Stratton's design for our kitchen and keeping room renovation was a brilliant mix of form and function. The transformation of our space was magical. We wanted our renovation to reflect our life patterns and we gave Doug an ambitious list of wants and needs. He was able to guide us thru the process to take what was in our minds to an amazing result where tradition blended with elegance. Friends and visitors are overwhelmed with how immediately comfortable they feel in our home. Doug's work is sophisticated and thoughtfully designed with a level of attention to detail that is above and beyond. His expertise is in unique design, lighting, paint colors, and use of materials. Having an exact computerized image of the room was invaluable to have as we navigated working with everyone involved. Doug and his team are a very talented design group. I consider Doug's work more beautiful than any rooms I have seen in interior design magazines.

I cannot recommend Doug Stratton highly enough. He is extremely professional and personable, as well as having a good sense of humor - a prerequisite in our book. He helped us find creative solutions to lighting our new kitchen at a reasonable cost, with many designer touches. Several of these apparently went against the grain of conventional wisdom, and the result was inspired!

I have a major (MAJOR) home remodel project in Bethesda, MD and Stratton Design Group (SDG) has been by my side throughout the whole process. They are truly masters of what they do - they take design beyond aesthetics by transforming the space to make it truly functional. Moreover, they look at your house as a whole and ensure that there is a continuous design story that reflects your personality. The entire SDG team has outstanding design skills. Doug, SDG Principal Designer, is a lighting guru and he will ensure your house is properly lit, while keeping it nice and cozy. Amanda and Sarah, SDG Junior Designers, are phenomenal at researching a variety of options that fit your unique style and needs. SDG will help you not only throughout the construction, but also through vendor search, furniture selection, décor, you name it… My project is very challenging and has a lot of nuances, and what stood out to me is that SDG will handle any obstacles with you collectively, as a team. They will listen to what you want and will put your needs first. Additionally, they are extremely efficient in delivering work and are very responsive. I consider myself a very tough/picky client and SDG has been continuously exceeding my expectations.
