I cannot say enough about working with Deborah. She helped us with our first house in 1986 and after my husband passed away and I was ready to downsize I immediately called her again. We did a full townhouse renovation down to the studs. Her style, her eye, her attention to every detail and her ability to listen and sense what would work for me is extraordinary!! We had the absolute pleasure of working with Deborah on the extensive remodeling and expansion of our home in the Princeton area. She handled every aspect of the interior design of our entire home. The first floor of our home, part of an active-adult community, felt like one big room of random stuff from previous homes. Deborah solved the problem by arranging furniture and large rugs to cordon off intimate gathering spaces resulting in distinct zones within a larger space. In the process, she transformed the solarium into a dining room, created a piano niche, and planned family and living room space using the same colors and thematic elements throughout. Each area now has its own personality, but feels part of the same house. We loved how Deborah incorporated our needlepoint tapestries and favorite possessions into the design. Prior to meeting Deborah Leamann in 2011 I had always admired her work and followed her career. When I did meet her in May of that year, there was an instant connection. We were very much on the same page regarding styles and a design perspective. Since then we have completed multiple properties in various states with Deborah. Deborah has a wonderful sense of design and of spacing. Over the course of 10 months, Deborah has transformed our house into a home. Our house was new construction and needed a lot of detail work to make it feel welcoming, warm, and alive. I had no idea the change a simple paint job would do but it completely transformed the look and feel of the first floor. She was able to pick the perfect color to start the transformation. Deborah has many strong skills as a designer but I think her best skill is that she is a great listener. My husband and I have a eclectic tastes and she was able to work with that, which makes me feel that she can work and design for everyone. As a person, she is thoughtful, caring, and very easy to work with. I recommend her to all of my friends. Deborah Leamann’s style is what I keep coming back to – in fact, it’s exactly what I did come back to just this year for a complete makeover of a living/dining room area, after she helped me 10 years ago. At that point, she stepped in to save my home from interior design disaster, with window treatments, paint choices and accessories that magically undid the damage of some poor design choices on my part (thanks to a “designer” from a furniture store). The expert advice she gave at that point was amazing. So when I decided it was time to re-do that part of my house from carpet to ceiling, I called on her again. She took time to talk through a workable new floor plan, suggest ways of integrating the furniture choices with the existing window treatments (which still look fantastic), and provide help with options for the details – lamps, mirrors, wall décor, etc. I trust her design intuitions completely, and recommend her highly.

Deborah and I worked together on the family room of my new home in Pennington, NJ. Shortly after moving to Princeton, we started interviewing Interior Decorators. Deborah made the decision easy for us with her warm and inviting way and we were absolutely in love with her portfolio.
