Martinez Kitchen
I can't find a picture of white hex tile on Houzz that I love. I like this, but I don't like the grout. I have seen pictures on the internet that I really like with white grout, so the tile just creates subtle texture. Can you help me find a picture of a whole kitchen done this way? I'd love to see a picture of one kitchen done in the penny tile size and one kitchen done in a slightly larger scale.
I like the brighter cabinets on the bottom and the backsplash here. Don't love the dark uppers. I like mid-century details in general, like the backsplash here or the globe lights in the other photo I saved.
I like the look of the wall-mount hood in this picture because there's a good amount of space between it and the cabinets on either side. Not sure if we have the space to do it that way, though!
I like the feel of this kitchen. Also love the under-counter space for the microwave. I assume that's not in our budget, but let me know if I'm wrong!
I think it's interesting how they've incorporated a bit of warm wood storage around the fridge. Could some warmer wood accents bring interest to the butler's pantry area? Or some limited butcher's block? I love the look of butcher's block, but worry that it's high maintenance.
I like the feel of this kitchen. (Not a big fan of the pendent lights, though.)
Saving this because it's a layout similar to our kitchen and shows the look of a wall-mounted hood. I don't like the bit moldings or the backsplash, but I think the layout could work with a more modern blue and a brighter tile?
I like the feel of this for the butler's pantry area: one wall with a good amount of storage and the sink around the corner. The rest of this kitchen feels bit heavy and traditional, but I like the way it mixes blue and white. I'm nervous about going all white in the butler's pantry area, though--if you have ideas for an inexpensive way to add some pattern or color, I'd love to hear them. Maybe in the backsplash?
I like the simple built-in bench and tall bookshelf in this kitchen.
This is probably my favorite of the mini islands. I do like the idea of having a little table or island that we could push against the wall or roll out and use with the kids.

This isn't my favorite. If you think we should do a fixture like this, we really like the look of things from Schoolhouse Electric. Probably not in the budget for now, but maybe we could find a cheaper option? Eventually, I'd like to splurge on the Schoolhouse Electric Ray pendent for the dining area, probably in white.
I really like the feel of this picture, except for the dark grout. Open shelving probably isn't idea for our lifestyle, but I love the look of it here. Maybe we could incorporate it in a limited way somewhere? Would it work near the second sink?
This blue is a bit too purple for my taste. The hexagonal tile is interesting. I don't love the gold, but I like the idea of it with a different color.
I don't love the different shades of blue in this kitchen. I do like the hardware on the cabinets, though.
This might be my favorite of the blues.
I really like this kitchen! If we go with a white backsplash, I like the feel of these shiny, handmade-looking tiles (not sure it's in the budget, though!).
I like the shiny white backspash. I don't like the blue as well in this photo.
If we could fit something like this, I would really like the counter for laundry folding!
Stacking W/D with side cabinet. If we can't fit them side by side, I think this concept would be great for storage.

High shelves
High shelves with baskets laundry. I was skeptical about the high shelves, but I do like the look of the baskets here.
Roll out tray pantry. I love this!!
I like the idea of this for a butler's pantry, but it feels cramped. I love the sink by the window. Don't love the heavy brass pulls.
Might want to think about a flush mount light in butler/baking area
Might want to consider a bench instead of built in if budget gets tight
I like this best of all the benches, though it doesn't have any storage.
The curved built-in bench below is my favorite, but I like the look of the built-in storage in this picture.
I think this type of bench would work well in the space. I love the curved sides to make the space seem more open. I'd love to have part of it with closed storage and part with baskets. Do you think we could squeeze one tall cabinet next to it, in the corner of the kitchen?
