Villa Style Powder Room

Wilson Kelsey Design transformed an existing water closet off of the foyer into this delightful jewel box powder room. The powder room's layout was altered to create a grand entrance while maximizing privacy. In the foreground, an antique medallion is inlaid in a custom door, hinting at something special inside. Gold sconces and a large gold mirror frame the freeform molten gold glass pedestal sink. Marble floors, luxury wallpaper, and gorgeous fabric heighten the decadence, as does the classical arched wall niche, which serves as a focal point for the room. WKD’s design brief was to infuse graceful grandeur for entertaining into this former 1907 stable and carriage house. One would imagine that the carriage house held, at least to some degree, historic and beautiful architectural details. However, this was not the case. Everything – architectural moldings, flooring, hardware, etc. - were designed and fabricated to the designer’s specifications. The home features a stunning French-style salon, elaborate adjacent dining room, a handsome paneled library, a Tuscan inspired gourmet kitchen and dining area, a wet bar, a beautifully landscaped outdoor terrace, and a stunning master bath.
