View From the Gate

A secondary focal point is found underneath an existing 'Bloodgood' maple. The size of the bed and the shallow root system of the maple discouraged the installation of a water feature, so we constructed this. Masses of 'Black Scallop' ajuga and dwarf mondo keep the eye moving around and through the vignette while 'Soft Caress' mahonia adds a necessary dose of texture. Photo by Jay Sifford.
