Native Edge LandscapeThe existing excavated limestone boulders were strategically repositioned to not only serve as functional components but also as visually striking features to the modified design of the dry creek pathways and planted areas.
The trees are viewed as an opportunity to utilize dark Whittlesey mulch to provide contrast, water retention, and tie in to other defined beds and oak clusters on the property.
The front walk is comprised of sawn limestone pavers surrounded by crushed limestone rock mulch and accented by river rock dry creek bed that follows through to the backyard. The pavers lead down to a poured-in-place concrete path that grants access to outdoor utilities and matches the driveway seamlessly.

Tal es su idoneidad, que asentó las bases para otras variantes, como por ejemplo la contundente Xerojardinería californiana: este nuevo concepto de jardinería se caracteriza por hacer un uso eficiente del agua, pues tiene origen en un movimiento social de concienciación e investigación en los Estados Unidos como consecuencia de una grave sequía que asoló California en 1977. Aunque cada estilo tiene una filosofía independiente, comparten ideología y normas básicas cuando indagas en profundidad. Los principios básicos de la Xerojardinería pueden recogerse en siete apartados fundamentales: planificación y diseño adecuados (haciendo hincapié en la definición de hidrozonas y de un mínimo de áreas sombreadas), sustrato adecuado, correcta selección de plantas, practicidad en las zonas de césped, sistemas eficientes de riego, uso de mulching y mantenimiento adecuado. A parte, las características diferenciadoras del Jardín Mediterráneo, es decir, sus fundamentos, quedan definidos por siete bloques: nivelación estricta del terreno, plantación bajo el nivel del suelo, creación de grandes zonas de sombra, empleo del arbusto, utilización de plantas autóctonas y naturalizadas, tratamiento del agua y diferenciación entre el jardín y el medio exterior. Habitualmente se tiene la concepción de que estas tipologías de jardines no tienen tanta presencia estética comparados con el estilo paisajista inglés, lo que no hace más que evidenciar una grave carencia en cuanto a cultura botánica de los países mediterráneos, puesto que contamos con la mayor biodiversidad vegetal de toda Europa aún por explotar. Debemos aprender a disfrutar de los cambios estacionales de nuestras praderas e interiorizar que un uso restrictivo del agua no implica renunciar al color o las texturas y reconocer nuestros verdes.

HMS Decorative Surfacing LimitedBull in the Oak, situated just outside the historic town of Market Bosworth in Leicestershire plays host to a prestigious new development of five luxury and individually designed properties by Cadeby Homes, accompanied by our client Hallam Read. The rural setting offers panoramic countryside views and easy access to the traditional market town of Market Bosworth, including Bosworth Water Park and Marina, and the acclaimed Dixie school.
The spacious development offers generous plot sizes and equally large parking and access for vehicles, which has been completed using a contemporary and highly decorative Decra®Set resin bound paving, finished in a Devon Cream natural aggregate blend.
Supported by groundworks from Premier Road Surfacing, our resin bound paving has been installed to a depth of 20mm onto a permeable base to allow for a fully porous and SUDS compliant finish. This choice of paving not only looks impressive but will dramatically reduce the likelihood of standing water, ponding and frozen puddles in winter months, as water and air circulate freely though the product, naturally draining away without the need for unsightly or unnecessary additional drainage provision.
To create a uniform finish and further enhance the appearance of wide open spaces afforded by this development, all areas to an approximate total of 1,400m² were completed using the same colour of product, to include the communal access and private parking areas across the site. Our recently captured drone footage gives and an amazing birds-eye view of the project, which HMS completed within 6 days to drastically reduce the number of joints visible throughout the scheme. Our fully qualified and insured installation team worked solidly in some very warm temperatures to create one of our favourite jobs so far this year.

Cottage is surrounded by cattle farms so flagstone patio and gravel drive for cars has been dressed with a mix of pots including modern and cottage garden planting, espalier fruit trees. Animals and wildlife areas have been taken into account with building. The roof ridge has been dressed with a hare finial - watching over his family in the fields located behind.
