Finding a home is not easy in a seller’s market, but when my clients discovered one—even though it needed a bit of work—in a beautiful area of the Santa Cruz Mountains, they decided to jump in. Surrounded by old-growth redwood trees and a sense of old-time history, the house’s location informed the design brief for their desired remodel work. Yet I needed to balance this with my client’s preference for clean-lined, modern style. Suffering from a previous remodel, the galley-like bathroom in the master suite was long and dank. My clients were willing to completely redesign the layout of the suite, so the bathroom became the walk-in closet. We borrowed space from the bedroom to create a new, larger master bathroom which now includes a separate tub and shower. The look of the room nods to nature with organic elements like a pebbled shower floor and vertical accent tiles of honed green slate. A custom vanity of blue weathered wood and a ceiling that recalls the look of pressed tin evoke a time long ago when people settled this mountain region. At the same time, the hardware in the room looks to the future with sleek, modular shapes in a chic matte black finish. Harmonious, serene, with personality: just what my clients wanted. We are delighted to reveal our recent ‘House of Colour’ Barnes project. We had such fun designing a space that’s not just aesthetically playful and vibrant, but also functional and comfortable for a young family. We loved incorporating lively hues, bold patterns and luxurious textures. What a pleasure to have creative freedom designing interiors that reflect our client’s personality.

Артистичный интерьер квартиры в Перми с элементами Бохо. Хозяйка - любитель Пермских "Дягилевских Сезонов», принимала активное участие в создании проекта. В работе над интерьером старались максимально использовать местные предметы, живопись местных художников, местную винтажную мебель, декор и даже изразцы местного производства. Самый интересный элемент - гостиная с двухуровневым пространством внизу которого гардеробная, наверху кабинет - библиотека и зона отдыха, а также нестандартно спроектированное пространство ванной комнаты

Added a small Powder Room off the new Laundry Space

We sourced encaustic tile for both bathrooms and kitchen floors to channel the aforementioned Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic that exudes both modernism and tradition.

A Lovely 1100 sq. bungalow in the heart of Silverlake stood untouched for almost half a century. This home as built was a 2 bedrooms + 1 bathroom with a good size living room. Client purchased it for the sake of turning it into a rental property. With a few good internal twists and space planning we converted this little bungalow into a full blown 3bed + 2.5 bath with a master suite. All of this without adding even 1 square inch to the building. Kitchen was moved to a more central location; a portion of a closet was converted into a powder room and the old utility room/laundry was turned into the master bathroom.

We wanted to make a statement in the small powder bathroom with the color blue! Hand-painted wood tiles are on the accent wall behind the mirror, toilet, and sink, creating the perfect pop of design. Brass hardware and plumbing is used on the freestanding sink to give contrast to the blue and green color scheme. An elegant mirror stands tall in order to make the space feel larger. Light green penny floor tile is put in to also make the space feel larger than it is. We decided to add a pop of a complimentary color with a large artwork that has the color orange. This allows the space to take a break from the blue and green color scheme. This powder bathroom is small but mighty.
