When a millennial couple relocated to South Florida, they brought their California Coastal style with them and we created a warm and inviting retreat for entertaining, working from home, cooking, exercising and just enjoying life! On a backdrop of clean white walls and window treatments we added carefully curated design elements to create this unique home.

Through a major remodel, the K. Rue Designs team led a fabulous design with results of a timeless look featuring black accents, a freestanding tub, and larger shower. Against a beautiful frosted window with thick white trim and wainscoting wall, a stunning black freestanding tub with wall-mount fixture creates a focal point. Neutral gray chevron wood-look tile offers interest white grounding the space. Light painted walls are complemented with elongated white subway tile throughout the shower and a hint of darker contrasting grout. For ambiance, a dark spherical chandelier adorns above the freestanding statement tub. All white cabinetry spans across the opposite wall with light quartz countertops. Black accents emphasized on the mirror frames, industrial lighting, single handle sink faucets, and cabinetry pulls. A sweet, intricate vanity chair entices this simple, yet sophisticated bathroom. - The shower floor tile are smaller geometric hexagons for added traction. Black bathroom fixtures accentuate the color scheme.

Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents. The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space. The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet. To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space. BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall. BOHO DESIGN The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower. When a large family renovated a home nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains, all bathrooms received dazzling upgrades and this master bathroom was no exception. The spacious room faces a private yard with an abundance of greenery and views of the foothills, so I chose light, cool colors and organic materials to reference the beauty just outside. We chose an elegantly curved freestanding bath tub which echoes the beautiful, sinuous twists of the tub filler and sink faucets. I worked with my client to create a massive steam shower lined with porcelain tile that mimics marble, a much more durable and steam-friendly material than porous marble. A grand custom vanity spans one half of the bathroom and features a seated make-up area. For the vanity lighting, my client fell in love with pendants that look as if they are faceted jewels. This master bath shower has 12 x 24 marble tiles on the wall with pebble tile floors and wood plank looking porcelain tiles installed in a herringbone pattern. The oil rubbed bronze shower fixtures match the vanity cabinet pulls, tub faucet, and sink faucets. The shower niche has three slab shelves with 1 inch marble hex tiles in the back. The white, shaker style vanity cabinet has a bevel detail in the drawers and door panels and is topped with Pental Quarts Cinza countertops with an Ogee edge. Under-cabinet lighting comes on with a motion sensor when someone enters the bathroom.

Our clients dreamed of a timeless and classy master bathroom reminiscent of a high-end hotel or resort. They felt their existing bathroom was too large and outdated. We helped them create a space that was efficient and classic with neutral colors to provide a clean look that won’t go out of style. These homeowners have been living in their house for a few years and wanted to add some life to their space. Their main goal was to create a modern feel for their kitchen and bathroom. They had a wall between the kitchen and living room that made both rooms feel small and confined. We removed the wall creating a lot more space in the house and the bathroom is something the homeowners loved to brag about because of how well it turned out!
