Of utmost importance to this client was a home boasting an elegant vibe – highlighting sophisticated furnishings without pretension – but with little-to-no-maintenance. Throughout the house, the designers incorporated performance fabrics that are sustainable for pets and children, offering an elegant ease that transitions from outdoor to indoor. They also focused heavily on the convenience factor, bringing the home deep into technology with media seating for a true media room; custom motorized shades in every room; TVs that reveal with a simple push of a button; and even desks that transition from a standing to seated position. Of course, you can’t have convenience without some glamour, and a former sitting room that was converted into a dressing room will make any woman’s eyes pop with envy. The to-die-for closet features power rods that float down for easy reach, a dressing mirror with wings that fold in and LED lights that change colors, a bench covered in couture fabric for distinctive perching, decadent carpeting and tons of shoe storage.

It’s always a blessing when your clients become friends - and that’s exactly what blossomed out of this two-phase remodel (along with three transformed spaces!). These clients were such a joy to work with and made what, at times, was a challenging job feel seamless. This project consisted of two phases, the first being a reconfiguration and update of their master bathroom, guest bathroom, and hallway closets, and the second a kitchen remodel. In keeping with the style of the home, we decided to run with what we called “traditional with farmhouse charm” – warm wood tones, cement tile, traditional patterns, and you can’t forget the pops of color! The master bathroom airs on the masculine side with a mostly black, white, and wood color palette, while the powder room is very feminine with pastel colors. When the bathroom projects were wrapped, it didn’t take long before we moved on to the kitchen. The kitchen already had a nice flow, so we didn’t need to move any plumbing or appliances. Instead, we just gave it the facelift it deserved! We wanted to continue the farmhouse charm and landed on a gorgeous terracotta and ceramic hand-painted tile for the backsplash, concrete look-alike quartz countertops, and two-toned cabinets while keeping the existing hardwood floors. We also removed some upper cabinets that blocked the view from the kitchen into the dining and living room area, resulting in a coveted open concept floor plan. Our clients have always loved to entertain, but now with the remodel complete, they are hosting more than ever, enjoying every second they have in their home. --- Project designed by interior design studio Kimberlee Marie Interiors. The master bath is a true oasis, with white marble on the floor, countertop and backsplash, in period-appropriate subway and basket-weave patterns. Wall and floor-mounted chrome fixtures at the sink, tub and shower provide vintage charm and contemporary function. Chrome accents are also found in the light fixtures, cabinet hardware and accessories. The heated towel bars and make-up area with lit mirror provide added luxury. Access to the master closet is through the wood 5-panel pocket door.

This is a realistic rendering of Option 3. Clients Final Choice. Current Master Bathroom is very outdated. Client wanted to create a spa feel keeping it mid century modern style as the rest of their home. The bathroom is small so a spacious feeling was important. There is a window they wanted to focus on. A walk in shower was a must that eventually would accomodate an easy walk in as they aged.

Modern bathroom project in Alexandria, VA with white vanity, marble looking porcelain tile, round mirror, chrome fixtures, shampoo niche and wall scones.

In this beautifully refinished hall bathroom, we feature a natural white Carrera marble stone complemented with white porcelain tile. The uniquely shaped shower shows off a hexagon-shaped floor tile, marble accent tile, pencil border, and porcelain wall tile. Included is a custom tempered shower door and half wall with brushed nickel hardware to accent the traditional decor. The 38”x18” custom bench and wall niche maintain a personalized look and functionality to the new shower. To create consistency in the design, both the mirror and the vanity were chosen in the shade “espresso” in addition to brushed nickel hardware for all the accessories. We know that this bathroom will stand the test of time for both design and workmanship.

The Master Bath was built out onto what used to be an old porch from the historic kitchen. We were able to find ample space to accommodate a full size shower, double vanity, and vessel tub.

Bathroom renovation included using a closet in the hall to make the room into a bigger space. Since there is a tub in the hall bath, clients opted for a large shower instead.

Another update project we did in the same Townhome community in Culver city. This time more towards Modern Farmhouse / Transitional design. Kitchen cabinets were completely refinished with new hardware installed. The black island is a great center piece to the white / gold / brown color scheme. The Master bathroom was transformed from a plain contractor's bathroom to a true modern mid-century jewel of the house. The black floor and tub wall tiles are a fantastic way to accent the white tub and freestanding wooden vanity. Notice how the plumbing fixtures are almost hidden with the matte black finish on the black tile background. The shower was done in a more modern tile layout with aligned straight lines. The hallway Guest bathroom was partially updated with new fixtures, vanity, toilet, shower door and floor tile. that's what happens when older style white subway tile came back into fashion. They fit right in with the other updates.

Modern inspired bathroom renovation. The modern black tile is balanced by light gray walls, white shaker style vanities and white quartz countertops. The tile around the built in bathtub flows into the walk in shower that features pebble floor tile and 2 shower niches with pebble tile accent.
