Light and Bright transitional style bathroom is the perfect blend of modern and contemporary. We really love the subway tile wainscot up the wall and windows by the sink. Our favorite part of this room is the freestanding, marble topped console, and the spacious steam shower with bench. We're also loving the freestanding bathtub.

Our client’s charming cottage was no longer meeting the needs of their family. We needed to give them more space but not lose the quaint characteristics that make this little historic home so unique. So we didn’t go up, and we didn’t go wide, instead we took this master suite addition straight out into the backyard and maintained 100% of the original historic façade. Master Suite This master suite is truly a private retreat. We were able to create a variety of zones in this suite to allow room for a good night’s sleep, reading by a roaring fire, or catching up on correspondence. The fireplace became the real focal point in this suite. Wrapped in herringbone whitewashed wood planks and accented with a dark stone hearth and wood mantle, we can’t take our eyes off this beauty. With its own private deck and access to the backyard, there is really no reason to ever leave this little sanctuary. Master Bathroom The master bathroom meets all the homeowner’s modern needs but has plenty of cozy accents that make it feel right at home in the rest of the space. A natural wood vanity with a mixture of brass and bronze metals gives us the right amount of warmth, and contrasts beautifully with the off-white floor tile and its vintage hex shape. Now the shower is where we had a little fun, we introduced the soft matte blue/green tile with satin brass accents, and solid quartz floor (do you see those veins?!). And the commode room is where we had a lot fun, the leopard print wallpaper gives us all lux vibes (rawr!) and pairs just perfectly with the hex floor tile and vintage door hardware. Hall Bathroom We wanted the hall bathroom to drip with vintage charm as well but opted to play with a simpler color palette in this space. We utilized black and white tile with fun patterns (like the little boarder on the floor) and kept this room feeling crisp and bright.

Stunning bathroom suite with laundry room located in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Candlelight Cabinetry custom English Linen vanity is a showpiece in this suite. Brooks Custom Eco-walnut countertop is the perfect match for the vanity. The clients own custom sink is highlighted by the Brizo Faucet Rook in venetian bronze and the Top Knobs brookline hardware in oil rubbed bronze. The amazing MAAX Optic Hydrofeel soaking tub is also enclosed with English Linen panels, the tub deck Great In Counters Rainforest granite highlights the tub. Emilamerica Fusion tub and shower wall tile in white, Schluter-Systems North America corner molding in antique bronze and Symmons Industries elm tub filler complete this oasis. The aim for this bathroom was to create a space that looks and feels bigger and brighter. This was achieved with a simple black and white colour palette and bold fixtures and fittings, giving the space a unique appeal. Encaustic floor tiles from Fired Earth uses french inspired patterns giving a feminine touch which also helps to zone the two areas whilst a crittall style shower screen defines the shower enclosure. Stainless steel accents enhance the look adding another dimension to the space.

Sweet little country cottage, this home was built in the 1930's in Dallas, Texas. The master bathroom shown in the before photo was extremely small, unappealing, and did not utilize the best space. With the K. Rue new design, a larger shower was created and a major update to the cabinetry was involved. Trying to eliminate constant distractions and interruptions, white and gray were the key colors in the bathroom to make a fluid statement. The small Carrara marble mosaic used on the floor was carried into the shower floor for a consistent rhythm. For an emphasized country cottage look, these 4x10 gray subway ceramic tiles add a slight rough and handmade look to the walls with an intentionally thick grout line. The cabinetry was purchased as one unit to appear as a furniture piece with built-in lavatories and faucets. Gray walls add a great accent to the almost all-white bathroom for depth and drama. Our client living in Dallas TX was referred to the K. Rue team through another client. We LOVE referrals and would be glad to help your friends or family with their design needs.

An open washstand for two in the vintage style, with curved backsplash and “dish in” recess on the countertop edges – all custom designed. The Crema Delicato marble has delicate notes of bronze to correspond to the Calacotta Gold floor. Polished nickel legs are below, with polished nickel faucets in the period style.
