This couple purchased a second home as a respite from city living. Living primarily in downtown Chicago the couple desired a place to connect with nature. The home is located on 80 acres and is situated far back on a wooded lot with a pond, pool and a detached rec room. The home includes four bedrooms and one bunkroom along with five full baths. The home was stripped down to the studs, a total gut. Linc modified the exterior and created a modern look by removing the balconies on the exterior, removing the roof overhang, adding vertical siding and painting the structure black. The garage was converted into a detached rec room and a new pool was added complete with outdoor shower, concrete pavers, ipe wood wall and a limestone surround. 1st Floor Master Bathroom Details: Features a picture window, custom vanity in white oak, curb less shower and a freestanding tub. Showerhead, tile and tub all from Porcelainosa.

Timeless white cabinetry, warm grey tile and quartz counter tops combine to create a spa-like bathroom in this North Kingstown, RI master bathroom. The same 12x24 porcelain tile is used on the bathroom floor and shower walls with a honed finish on the floor and polished in the shower. I was hired by my previous employer, Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths to assist these homeowners with all of the materials, fixtures and finish choices to complete this master bathroom remodel. Brian Egan, owner and designer at CCKB in Sept 2017, since retired), designed this aging-in-place, accessible shower (previously a shower and separate soaker tub) for the clients who reside in an over 55 community here in Corvallis. Large format 12x24 unpolished Crossville Kosmos Moonstruck tile was chosen for the bathroom floor and the shower walls to minimize grout lines. For the shower floor/pan small 1x1 DalTile Keystones Marble color tile was used to aid in making the floor feel extra slip resistant as the Keystones tiles do not have grittier feeling surface than porcelain tile. For safety and a non-industrial look, Moen Align chrome designer grab bars were installed in the shower and toilet room. The handshower and rainshower head system by Grohe beautifully combines the 2 systems in one unit called Retrofit 160. To allow the homeowners to turn the shower on and warm up without them having to step in the direct spray of the shower head, the controls were placed under the window near the shower entry. This would also allow a helper to assist anyone using the shower in the future should the need arise. A linear drain was installed to pull water away from the zero threshold shower entry. Installing a linear shower drain allows for a no threshold shower which can allow for the shower to be accessible with a walker or roll-in with a wheelchair as the shower was designed almost 40" wide. The homeowners were thrilled with the transformation of their bathroom. The design and material choices fit their tastes and needs perfectly. Now they can continue to age in place and not worry about how they would be able to bathe if something were to decrease their mobility. Photos by: H. Needham

This lovely bathroom remodel was originally a small powder room turned Master Bath. The walls are completely tiled in a lovely dark brown ceramic tile while the lighter tile on the floor offsets the dark walls. The Shower is curbless and has one glass panel for an open shower feel. The towel rack was custom made to facilitate the lack of storage. Lime Green glass counter tops on the vanity and modern fixtures make this bathroom one of a kind.

La salle de bain a gardé sa taille et ses murs d'origines. Toutefois elle a été entièrement rénovée. La baignoire a été remplacée par une grande douche et les toilettes sont à présent suspendues. Le plan vasque a été réalisé sur mesure et dissimule un lave linge à hublot Candy de 3kg. Un carrelage hexagonale rose poudré de chez WOW design a été posé en crédence et sur les murs de la douche. Des placards hauts ont été réalisés au dessus des toilettes ainsi qu'une tablette. Enfin un grand miroir rond en métal noir et des appliques assorties de chez Ikea complètent l'ensemble.

A family of four with two young girls and cats needed a brand new master bath to accommodate a family member with MS. They tasked us with creating a luxurious master bath in a modern rustic style that was ADA-accessible and could accommodate the client's walker and wheelchair in the future. Their key issues were that the shower was relatively small, with a curb the client had to step over. They also had a large jacuzzi tub with a tub deck built around it, but the couple never used it. The main bathroom only had one vanity with minimal counter space available, and the dated finishes and materials looked tired - so they were more than ready for a beautiful transformation. To create an ADA-accessible main bath, we relocated the shower to an interior corner, allowing for the addition of a larger ADA-accessible shower with zero entry and a bench the client could easily transfer onto for bathing. The arrangement of this space would also allow for a walker and wheelchair to easily move through the walkways for access to the shower. We moved the toilet to where the shower had been located originally with ADA accessibility features and installed luxurious double vanities along the entire vanity wall, with a modern linen tower cabinet for added storage. Since the client loved the modern rustic aesthetic, we incorporated their chosen style with elements like the Calacatta porcelain tile, cabinet hardware, mason jar lights, and wood-framed mirrors.
