At the back of this fantastic property is a modern kitchen/diner with a rooflight and bifold doors which open up to a cosy south-facing garden. The rooflight glazing above the dining table provides desirable extra sunlight. However, our customers found that with the joys of additional natural light come issues of harsh solar glare and excess heat build. An automated rooflight blind with a white screen fabric was installed to help control the excessive heat build and solar glare. This colour was chosen because it blends in with the white walls around it and when deployed, the sunlight creates a soft, warm tone in the dining area. A power screen was also installed to the set of bifold doors. For this screen, the customers chose our standard 18:14 black mesh as its primary purpose is for insect protection. When deployed, this allows bug-free natural ventilation to flow through the house – further helping to prevent excessive heat build. The rooflight blind and screen were tailor made in our factory in Peterborough and then installed by our Phantom Screens fitters at no extra cost. Wall switches were installed to make the rooflight blind and Power Screen feel more a part of the fabric of the home. Both the rooflight blind and Power Screen can also be controlled via Somfy remote controls.
