Planting scheme for woodland style garden

The owners of this garden wanted to improve the planting around an existing pond and slate water feature. The plants had to be tough to survive in a poor soil, consisting mainly of builders rubble. In the area behind the pond they also had to cope with the extreme dry shade beneath several large trees. A seating area was requested, to take an existing bench, which we constructed using sleepers, with a stepping stone path for access. Photo Jo Fenton
