Oriental themed garden, Woolmer Green, Hertfordshire

The brief was to provide a low maintenance garden with an Oriental theme. The untidy grassed area was cleared and a contemporary slate stone used to create a patio large enough to accommodate a dining table. Other areas were covered with gravel and pebbles of varying sizes with oriental style planting such as grasses and low growing dwarf pines. The couple also wanted a summerhouse and this was sighted on a raised hardwood deck which was mirrored on the opposite side of the garden complete with a pergola and containers planted with tall bamboo for added privacy and interest.
